Morning gents.

We will keep you in our thoughts that everything goes well Richard.

That car driver needs to just dial in his sights a little bit and he will hit that target...lol.

morning all. Good luck with the eyes Richard.

Short day for me. I have to take the newly minted 16 year old to his annual eye exam. I think I'll blame Richard on this one.

I need to go make my annual eye exam. I like going to my ophthalmologist and eye surgeon. The same guy did the lens implants for my wife and she does not need glasses anymore. He does all the checks for pressures, and looks for retinal issues.

Back 12 years ago when I first started here I helped the owner order some high efficiency long life florescent bulbs. It was a case of 12 bulbs. I just opened that case to replace some bulbs. I guess they are long lasting for sure since I took down the same style bulbs that burned out.

My annual eye exam is in March. He does a good enough job I suppose. I don't have too many issues and he doesn't pressure me into Lasik or anything similar.

Oklahoma doesn't have groundhogs. Lotsa prairie dogs.

At the local zoo they use a brown bear to look for a shadow.

One thing for sure, in 6 weeks spring will start. Monday March 20th. Spring will sprung and what the groundhog sees is irrelevant. It is a GREAT Bill Murray movie however.

On the way home from exercising, we saw a beautiful Olive 1973 911S targa. I was surprised by how good that color looked on a long hood. Porsche had a lot of interesting colors back then.

The RDX is 11 and starting to show signs I need a new ride. Thinking Cayman based on Ricks thoughts or a Macan. I'll wait to see what Glen thinks of his first.

Got a weird call. Chick asked if my Cayenne was still for sale. Then she asked if she could come Sunday to look it over. Told her sure. Then she hung up! Called back immediately, she forgot to ask where to come see it. Not sure if this is a real buyer or not. The only other thing she said is you aren't a car lot are you, like she didn't want to buy from a car lot. Maybe that's why she wanted to come see it on a Sunday?

My experience selling cars with the internet is I don't get very many calls, but the one person that bothers to come to see it buys it.

Right now it is in the shop. Drove it because of the Turbo's headlight issues and I started faintly smelling oil. Also one of the people on rennlist asked about the engine mounts, a $900 repair. Took it in to have motor mounts and faint oil odor checked out. The good news is the motor mounts are good for another 40K. The bad news is the valve cover gaskets are leaking, AND they found the passenger side down pipe between the headers and primary cats has a hole and is rusting out. Said otherwise a PPI would be perfect. Having them fix the valve cover gaskets and they are going to try to get to the down pipe by when I have to pick it up Friday to show Sunday.

When I sell a car I try to put it in the best shape I can because that is the way I would want to buy a car.

Ground hog... schmound hog. If he sticks his head up around here he better duck quick or a snow plow will lop his head off.
Just when you think the roads are all done along comes a snow squall and another 2 inches.
Nothing like sanding in the morning and plowing it all off in the afternoon

Well, bought an HK45 today. Went in intending to buy the Tactical model, but I have no current need for a threaded barrel and, for some bizarre reason, HK went with meprolight for the night sights on the tactical and I know way too many people who've had serious issues with mepros....so, I save ~$300 by going with the standard version.
Probably sneak off to the range tomorrow and see how it does.

Had one of the first Dessert Eagles. Traded it to a friend for a Mac IIfx computer. The friend traded the DE for an HK and loves it. Said the grips on the DE were too big for him. Doesn't shoot much since he turned super liberal. Kinda surprised he still has it. Think he keeps it because of his wife, she's a Texas girl and not so liberal.

While waiting for my turn in surgery talked with my brother about my earliest memories. When we moved to OKC he was a Senior in HS. We lived in the rent house for 1-1/2 years then moved to the house my parents bought and lived in 35 years. I was kind of fuzzy on when we moved from 2 bedroom rent house and our 3 bedroom house. He said he went to Marine boot camp when we lived in the rent house. When he got out he took his leave to find we had moved. And also that he had to go to Gallup NM for visit my parent because they had gone out there for my nieces birth. Their first grandkid.

He did not remember that my Grandmother was in Gallup with us. Says his memory is a little vague as it was a stressful time for him. He was a senior in HS and working a lot at a local gas station. As I understand it he was the character in HS like Fonzi. It was 1960 and he wore jeans, t-shirt and leather jacket because of the wrench monkey job when everyone else in school was wearing button down shirts and chinos. He joined the Marines right out of HS because he had to get married and saw it as a better way to support a family.

When my brother started dating his wife he didn't know her father was the founder of the company my Dad worked for. Remember overhearing my Mom telling someone about his girlfriend telling her that she was going to marry my brother no matter what it took. She was a sophmore when they got married and she did not finish school. Instead she got a GED. Kinda surprised they stayed married by today's standards.

It may have made a difference that she had a lot of money because even then she had stock in her Dad's company. My brother refused to use her money. All the way up to and including today. Their houses, cars, etc were all his money. He also bought stock when he could and is now the major stock holder and Chairman of the board. She is worth a huge sum of money, but it doesn't matter because they never spend any of it. I've always considered their money as money with strings.

Good Friday morning all.

Pete, your place and most all of Vermont is really pretty in the summer but I just could not deal with the snow and cold of winter up there. We had a couple inches of snow a few weeks back and it disappeared in a day. With luck that will be it for us, but February is usually our worst month. I am real glad February is a short month. They are predicting high 70s and maybe even 80 next week so maybe this year we will have a better Feb.
