Jim & Brent, cool.

There was a recent Nature or Nova special on dolphins. They has some really cool robots that they called spy cams. The think looked like a dolphin or squid and the dolphins were not concerned with the cameras. They had some really cool footage.

flipper35 05-23-2017 09:28 AM

I did nothing of consequence. We just happened to have a way to share it.

Jim Richards 05-23-2017 10:13 AM

Thanks Brent! SmileWavy

We saw maybe 40-50 dolphins that day while we were out sailing. Other days, we're lucky to see any. I'd love to see a whale migrating up the coast while we're sailing, but we've only been able to see them from the whale watching boats. I guess whales only show themselves if we part with some of our cash.

On our Alaska cruise a few years back we saw several whales and even killer whales. It was funny is one side of the ship would see them and everyone ran to that side and a few minutes later they were on the other side. We saw some blue whales on our Hawaii cruise between Maui and Oahu and over by Kauai.

Porsche-poor 05-23-2017 10:37 AM

Glen they are called orcas. Not very many in Washington call them killer whales.

flipper35 05-23-2017 11:54 AM

Jim, maybe if you toss a few dollars overboard to the whales?

Ah, so they hired a PR firm. I get it.

As I understand they are the largest of the dolphins and not whales. They hunt and eat seal lions, dolphins, penguins or any critter they can kill and eat, even baby whales.

Porsche-poor 05-23-2017 01:55 PM

yep on all the above. I'm teasing you about the PNW.

Just for you for being declared sensitive and empathetic and not just pathetic. ;)

Blazing Saddles is such a great movie. So many lines can never be repeated in another new movie.

Good Hump day morning. It is a cool 49 degrees here. It is about to get warm however.

Didn't let em turn me into a mambie pambie cry baby freakin snowflake. Just how to better to recognize and avoid them.

GH85Carrera 05-24-2017 08:17 AM

Best is to just not reply or interact with snowflakes. Don't wanna make em have a meltdown.
