Get off my lawn!
|
Wow, Max and Pete on the same page. All we need now is Sid or Tweze or maybe Rick to get a trifecta.
Max, I lost my dad 4 years ago. It is tough when you see something that you used to chat with dad about and realize again he is gone. Or you are at a point in some thought and think I should call dad and get his input...... It gets a litter easier with time. This afternoon I am gonna wash the El Camino. It has been weeks since it has been washed. Every time I think maybe now I check the forecast and it is for rain tomorrow. We are supposed to have a few days of clear weather. I will wash it and change the forecast for sure.

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad, Max. My condolences to you, your mom, and the rest of your family. A few years ago, one of my brothers passed away, and certain events still trigger my fond memories of him. It will take a little time for the sorrow of your dad's passing to go away, but the happy memories of him will stay with you.
I wish I knew it was you on the bike...we would've loved to stop and meet, Max.

Morned my Mom's passing in 2005 when she had a stroke. Though took care of her until 2015. She was just not Mom after the stoke. As if the stroke was not enough she mentally degraded with post stroke dimentia more an more until she passed. Definitely not a walk in the park.
Because of the stroke she talked about and I learned a LOT of major issues and events that had been kept from me my entire life. A lot of things made more sense. But did not make ANY of my siblings or their families what I would call good people despite their affiliations and accomplishments. I was the only one of 6 children that even attempted to help take care of my Dad, Brother with MS, and then Mom. They rarely if ever even came to visit and one brother lives 2 houses away from us. So close, yet so far.

By the way, anyone know what to do for pain on the instep of your foot other than Tylenol? In sparring, my instep met Em's elbow instead of the thai pad full force. At first I thought it was broken but it appears to be in the correct number of pieces. I didn't know how sensitive the instep is until then! I have broken bones, sprained joints and dislocated knees and shoulders and none compared to that.

Reduce the pain, not double it.

Had a Chiropractor that used one of those activator things. Looks like a center punch with a handle. He could do some amazing acupuncture type stuff with that activator. Complained about pain in my foot one time, he clicked that activator on my calf and my foot went numb. Then clicked a place next to my lower back bone and the feeling came back in my foot minus the pain.

The end of the actuator is about the size of the end of your finger. He explains it by showing a clear tube with a ball in it. You try to shake the tube all around and the ball won't move. He clicks the end of the tube with the actuator and the ball is knocked to the other end of the tube. But it doesn't actual break the skin or even bruise.
Says he moves the bones and muscles around with it. Said he can open and close where the nerves exit the back and their route around the body by moving the vertebrae, bones, and muscles around with it. Sometimes just moving the nerves themselves around makes them wake up or shut up. Most people that have problems he can take an xray and show where the vertebrae are twisted little the space between them is crunched down and the holes where the nerves go are smaller. There are different nerve exits for different parts of the body. My xray showed smaller nerve holes exactly where I was having problems. One time my back was really hurting and he got out his jack hammer activator. It was like the activator hooked to an electric hammer drill. He pounded around my back bone and shoulders with it. It not only felt like the ultimate deep tissue massage, my back quit hurting. Said my problem was sitting in one position slumped forward in front of the computer too long. Said I need to stretch every once in a while. Sometimes it really helps to sit or stand as tall as you can and stretch yourself taller, kind of twist and curve left and right trying to make yourself taller by making your back and neck longer and straighter. I alwaya hear and feel little pops like when your crack your knuckles. That means you are getting more space between the vertebrae. When I was going thru the pinched nerve Golf Balls thing he told me when my feet started hurting to stretch my neck while rocking my head on top of the neck to try and make my head as far from my shoulders as possible. It always stopped my feet from hurting. That was only after I quit driving the Passat that was pinching the nerves crossing my butt/pelvis going to my legs and feet.

Morning all. We made it through Monday.
I had a first today. I checked my email as usual and a potential customer is looking for help Geo-referencing so imagery from Rwanda. We have done work in Texas down close to the Mexico border but never anything close to the south part of the planet. I am curious how they picked an Oklahoma company to assist them. If they have money, we will be happy to help!

It's not often a person really gets to exercise their vocabulary. You can't even inject a vernacular term now again without incurring the wrath of the boobwasie culture.
