Cookies!! Reminds me, my niece alway gives me a bag of chocolate chip cookies and fudge brownies for Christmas. Glad she likes my Mango Salsa I give them.
Already have my case of canned mangos in lite syrup for this years gifting. Now just have to get apricot preserves and all the fresh ingredients and start making salsa. maters, onions, garlic, Jalapeņos, serrano, habanero, sweet peppers, cilantro. The amounts of each variety of pepper each year. When I get mix right it starts sweet, then a little pepper flavor (not hot) the cilantro then the mango (fruity but not sweet) the blends into a salsa flavor. The hot doesn't hit for a minute or so, and then only just enough to make you want more! Always trim out the pepper membranes so it's just he skin to get more pepper flavor without the heat. SIL thinks if you can taste peppers at all then it's too hot. Sometimes make some just for her with no peppers at all. I may try adding some red food coloring because it ends up kind of yellow and people think that means it's hot. Remember my Grandmother always put yellow food coloring in her chicken noodles (fanstastic!). She didn't have any yellow food coloring so she didn't put any coloring in and it was kind of white and the family didn't eat near as much as they usually did. The next time she forgot to get yellow and put in red food coloring instead. It was a disaster nobody would eat any at all because it was pink noodles in a red sauce.

Wow.
Bought a new Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone in 1975 when I was in 10th grade. Worked and saved to pay for it myself. It cost $750. Playing it paid for 2 years of college tuition and books, all I had to do was play in the band and Jazz band. It was unusual to get a scholarship that big without having to major in music. So as far as I'm concerned it was a good investment. Looked it up and a sax like this one is now going for around $6500!

I am up!
The commute into work truly sucked this morning. Get up at 4:15 AM and get to business partner's house and haul him to Will Rogers International airport. One thing for sure, traffic is pretty light on the interstate at that hour. And to make it more fun the fog is 1/2 mile visibility. Hopefully they take off in time and the fog does not delay them and better yet, he is NOT going to Atlanta. It will be interesting to find out how Atlanta went dark. My partner is off flying another week of the double secret mystery project. He told them he is leaving on Saturday to be home for Christmas. He will get the total fun of traveling on Christmas Eve. That will be a blast for him. ![]() I for sure see a nap in my future today.

Yeah, the ACH is working!
Our bank has crazy tight security, which I guess is a very good thing. After a really long contract and several signatures and initials and other hoops to jump through we can finally just click a mouse and pay ourselves from the company account to our personal account. It just seems weird silly to print a check, sign it, endorse it, and then use my iPhone to make the deposit.

The company I work for used to have to take a paper copy to the bank for payroll deposits and at first you had to have a personal account with that bank. I just had them mail me a check. Used to have to make a trip to my branch and make the deposit. For about a year I made the deposit taking a picture with my iPhone. Now I don't do nuthin. It just shows up in my account on the last business day of the month.
Now the list is uploaded via secure ftp. Our payroll person has to have a fixed public IP to send the file to the bank. Sometimes it still messes up and won't accept our file. But that's not very often. They can also direct deposit into almost any bank now. I may see if I can adjust the deposit so it is distributed into 3 different accounts. Savings, Bills, and Cash Budget. Now it is just Savings and Checking. Oh yeah, mertnin. My cash budget account thing worked out great. I swear the guy at the corner store did NOT give me my card back at the drive up window. Drove straight home, search my car to give him the benefit of the doubt, killed the card, and picked up a new one the next morning. The best part is I did not have to update my card info on all my regular monthly accounts. Use a different account and card for those. What I like about it is I use a debit card. Only has the money for that week in the account. If it gets stolen the debit card will give me the same protection as a credit card, but the thiefs can only get what is left of my weeks budget before the card is declined and not whatever limit is on a credit card. Kind of a principal thing.

I bought a new and higher quality mouse for my computer.
It is a Logitech MX Master. I am still trying to get used to all the bells and whistles, or buttons. It has more buttons and modes than my hand has to learn. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Performance-Mouse-Large/dp/B002HWRJBM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1513632729&sr=8-5&keywords=logitech+mx+master It has a button for the back of my thumb that is a page forward or back. If I push down with my thumb it brings up the task manager view of all open programs and that makes it easy to switch programs. And it will work with up to three different computers. It does buletooth or the USB dongle. It shares the same dongle as my keyboard. It may take me another year to learn all it does.

Have possession of a 1994 Iris Blau Metallic 928 GTS 5 speed with classic gray interior and 68K miles.
![]() Feels good to finally have it back! Driving around it's very zippy shifting at 3000. Just goes with plenty of umph. Feels faster than the Cayenne Turbo. Should be easy keeping the revs below 4000 for 1000. It does sound so good going from 3000 to 4000!!! Sitting in the 928 makes the Cayenne's "comfort seat" feel like bench a seat. The first thing I noticed getting in the car was the smell of older Porsche leather interior.

Have the Apple Magic Mouse and it does more than I take advantage of with all kinds of swiping and tapping with one two or three fingers. The whole thing is like a track pad with gestures and doesn't have any buttons or scroll wheels. So far haven't accidentally deleted any files.

Jeff, whazz up?
We need updates form down under. Is the grand kid in high school yet? Good no longer Monday day for those that care about Mondays. I am just happy to be getting up today at a normal time and not 4:15 AM. Shudder. I still have my original Microsoft mouse that came with Windows back in the 1980s. The version Microsoft rushed to market to beat Apple to the market. I have that in the closet as well. That mouse had two buttons and a steel roller ball. This new mouse has more buttons than I car to count. Several of them will take some hand training to get good at using. One button is a toggle for the scroll wheel. If I click it the wheel is free wheeling and does not have the click stops. I can scroll to the bottom of a long document real fast, them click the one button and go back to the step by step scrolling. There is a second wheel for my thumb to allow horizontal scrolling. So besides that scroll wheel for the thumb there are 5 other buttons just for my thumb!

Good Save, and Good Morning.
So since the 928 is no longer in the shop I've been looking at agreed value collector car insurance. Hagerty is $3600/year ouch. Grundy is $565/year. That is a HUGE difference! My current insurance, Farmers, is $1800/year for both cars with the Cayenne as the primary. But they would pay only the average replacement for the 928 instead of the collector value, about $50K total instead of $100K. They don't consider collector value, color/condition/miles. My brother said he was using Hagerty for his 57 T-bird. And he has that AAIC, or whatever it is veterans stuff for everything else. The extraterrestrial bro, with that can barely afford to eat, asked me if he could drive it. He thinks his insurance would cover it if he wrecked it. Told him he better call and find out what they would pay before he tells me it would be covered because agreed value only allows the drivers on the policy.

My policy just renewed so I have it here in front of me. I have agreed value insurance on the Elky and the 911. The 911 is agreed value of $46,000 and it costs $1.21 per day so $442 per year. The Elky is only valued at $15,000 but it costs about the same. The Macan is the expensive one, just over $900 per year. We have a $500 deductible.
We have our house insured with the same company, and we have a umbrella policy with them. They send me a rebate check every year of $1,200 is I don't have any claims. The have full replacement of the roof and just a $1,000 deductible, and the best part is the utilities are covered. If my water line coming to the house, the sewer going out, or the gas line fails, they will pay to repair it. Better yet, when and if the central AC unit dies and has to be converted to the new style and that means replace the furnace and blower, they cover that. Even a water heater failure. When we had a hail storm and had to replace the roof the totaled the roof, and wrote me a huge check and said get it replaced by whatever company you want. I interviewed a lot of roofing companies. Most of them started off with "how much did you get form the insurance company" and I told them it does not matter, what is your price? One guy would not quote it without knowing the amount. I showed him the door, bye. Finally found a company that looked at the roof, measured, and sent me a quote. I hired him and they did a great job. The pictures of that are in this thread somewhere.

Mrs Carrera just decided I needed to go with her to fill up her car. At the pump at the same station I always use was a Maybach. It was pumping gas in as I got out. I ran the CC and started our fillup and looked over at the next pump to see the Maybach. It was still drinking down gas. I asked him what sort of mileage it gets and he said on the highway about 12 to 14. Wow, I guess gas mileage is not the selling point of a 12 cylinder monster cruiser limo. It is a good looking car if you are into big sleds.

I have an older Logitech mouse with the weights you can put in, the buttons for forward and back, the buttons to adjust the sensitivity on the fly, the "Sniper" button which changes the resolution to 200DPI for as long as you hold it down for precise movement plus the freewheel/click thing on the scroll wheel. Plus the software to program it all.
David, it is a well deserved break from pipes (or whatever they are having you do at the moment). The Cobra sounds better the higher it revs. At idle it sounds like a drummer that can't keep a beat, like our daughters high school band. I don't know how a band can march with drummers that are not only not on the same page, I am not sure they are in the same music book. I guess that explains why they can't stay in step.
