I do love a good tunnel tune romp. The 70mm sport exhaust is a tad noisy....

Phew. I made it to DFW and am the gate for the flight home. My water bottle ran empty at cruise altitude so I capped it. It was crushed a lot by air pressure on landing. It popped back when I unscrewed the cap. DFW really really really wants you to buy a drink and the closest water fountain was 3/4 of a mile each way. After a nice brisk walk I got to my gate. We should start loading pretty soon.

There are a LOT of women wearing yoga pants that have never done any exercise and should not wear them. Barf.

Yea, imagine that in the middle of February and it is cold!

My slave driving greedy bastage boss has me working on Saturday. I did get a version of the Skyline software that is still in the Beta version. I need to install that and start learning some of the set up and operational use of it while here at home. The version we own is at my partner's house and it is locked to that computer with a hardware key. The Beta version will give me a temporary hardware key that I can use it for a few weeks at least. Our big 128 gig $8.000 computer at my partners house has beer running for a month straight and still has work to do on one project. I can't stop it from real production just to play with the software.

The new software completely changes the way it does the aerial triangulation. What took over a week before now is done in a few hours. It is about 1/10 of the time required now. And it does a better job at it. At least that is the promise. For the $$$$ we have invested in it I hope so.

Back to work.

I had a long and likely expensive chat with my CPA. I met him at a local Porsche club event 30 years ago. He used to have a 1974 911 Carrera. It was stolen and it is gone.

He wanted to update some items on my QuickBooks to show things a certain way. I set up a remote view of my system and I always have Pandora playing in the background. I did not realize he was getting the feed from Pandora as well. The doors "Light my fire, followed by In-A-Godda-Da-Vidda played and he said we have the same tastes in music.

He is a HARD core audiophile. He has a 30K all tube amp and a high end turntable and speakers. He is one of the few people that still has new tubes made and he has a business repairing high end tube amps. He has customers from all over Europe and the USA come interview him to see his setup before they send some crazy expensive amp over for repair.

Don't think I can hear the difference between consumer and audiophile stuff like I used too.

Gave up on "Hifi" when I discovered Surround Sound in the 80's. Also at that time the quality of consumer sound improved considerably.

Saw them go from 1 inch reel to reel tape to digital recording for the local philharmonic. It was lower quality, but digital was all that was accepted for reproduction and distribution. I setup the system used to copy 22 years of 1 inch reel to teel tape recordings of the local philharmonic to digital. Digital has a better signal to noise ratio, butt...the biggest difference is the overal volume of a performance. The difference between and single instrument playing pianissimo and a full orchestra playing fortissimo is more than the 100db limit of digital. Digital clips the sound where tape just gets overdriven. They tried to say the difference was stepped waves versus analog waves, but the digital sample rate is so high that anything reproducing the sound can't react fast enough to tell a difference. Of course, you can play a digital file at a low enough bit rate that it sounds terrible as the hardware attempts to fill the gaps between.

Yea, something is screwy. Tapatalk still shows Pelican as "You don't have permission to reply" but Garage Journal works fine.

I hope is gets fixed soon.

Since that stroke I have been getting sleepy and sleeping a lot. Was worried about it, Doc says it is normal. Don't like it. Am not getting very much done.

Did notice a difference. Every once in a while have taken an on-line IQ test for fun. Always got a score of 146. Took one after the stroke to see if it made me stupider and got a score of 159. Because is was different than in the past, found another and got 159 again. Think the future stroke prevention meds/diet/exercise/sleep made me smarter or maybe somehow it was the stroke itself?

random selection of questions might have gone in your favor or you unlocked a part of the brain you had not been using.

Had a friend that was a head shrinker. He tried a couple of the on-line tests and said that he had taken several certified IQ tests and got the same score with the on-line tests.

Have taken those tests several different times over the years and always gotten the same score. Lead me to believe that even if the final score was not accurate, at least it is very consistent. Like a Dyno run. They may not be super accurate, but you can use it to see what effects changes made.

That is why I was surprised by the change and took a different test. Honestly, thought a TIA stroke starving the brain of oxygen would lower the results, not the opposite.

Afternoon all. No snow clearing for a few days but meetings have taken its place. Would rather clear snow.
