Stijn!!

Good morning guys. I am fixing to go to the garage and get the Porsche ready for the autocross. It will be a cold day. 48 degree high temp. I will make sure my tire pressure is correct.

We are on the way in, had a slight delay for dad to get a verbal overspeed permit from the OHP. 71 in a 60 construction zone! Be at the track in less than 30 though

Dad just learned what happens when you don't drive a 911 and I have the spare keys. I now have a new daily driver, dads work in progress targa.

I'm a bit jealous. My parents never bought interesting cars. Nice cars, but never interesting from a driving enthusiast's perspective.

Just started raining. I guess we'll hold off on the off-leash hike with the dog. More Legos with the boy for now.

Stijn!!

It was a cold day indeed.

Not the best traction with cold tires but my car is very neutral now.

I will have to hang out in the 911 tech forum for a while. My Carrera makes a funny buzzing noise when cold, and it smokes like crazy. Once if warms up it is fine.

Glen, smokes like crazy? That's not good - unless you overfilled the oil. I hope you're not developing valve guide issues or ring issues.

Glen you left before the black Civic Si ate it... I'll post pics later. Driver was fine, we towed him past the gate, he was going to phone a wrecker.

We had a Vette lose it last year, he refused to simply go feet in and ended up out of bounds, over a bank and on his lid.

I would, too. That E30 M3 was special in that it was meant as a true homologation type car. You don't see that very much, anymore. At least not in any price range mere mortals can afford. The E36 and later M3s were just higher performance production cars.

Before I bought my 930 I also considered an E30 M3. Might have been in Henna Red. Looked great. But it had had track use (half cage, racing seats, racing harness, requisite touring car sponsor window stickers) and 117K miles. The owner was asking around $17 or 18K, IIRC. He dismissed the mileage of the car, saying they were built for long distance racingso mileage wasn't a big deal. Not exactly. DTM races were two short sprints.
