We are still having weather David is supposed to have. Actually, the fires are causing some of our weather.

Hope all goes well with the transaction Richard.

A picture off the local news site. That's Puget Sound just off Seattle.

I take it that is not the normal Seattle fog?

Well, off to our retreat.

The company we buy the aviation oil we use in the 172s and 182 has a weird policy for setting up an account. They has a three page form to fill out for credit, and all we buy is $140 (two cases) of oil at a time every other month. I sent them a letter and told them I am unwilling to go through a total credit check and three pages of personal and company information for something we can pay by credit card, and for so little of a charge.

They called today. We are no longer "no accounts" we are in the system. Just call and tell em how many cases we need. Go pick em up. Easy peasy.

Yea, I did not have to fill out three pages of information about myself and the company. Just insane for the small bit we buy. I can see if we were buying several 55 gallon drums of the stuff or the even bigger containers they sell. We don't need that much. It would be great to need that much, but we are a long long way from that.

The folks at the counter said the only accounts they can open are for full credit accounts. So I wrote a simple letter to the head office. The bean counters up there understood our needs.

My dad used to laugh about companies having to fill all that stuff out for him just so he could get a discount off a few bucks worth of stuff. Something about filling all that stuff out made him look like a real company instead of just a one guy company.

at least in todays age the info at times might not be real. For instance the airport in France thinks that Alfred E. Newman with a made up email is real and I got free wifi while waiting for my flight.

One of my nephews had me enhance the contrast on a sonogram of his first kid.
I was able to make it so you could make out the youngster's feauters much better.
The picture had an arrow that pointed to the blob before enhancement that said Fetus.
Could not stop myself and changed it to say Festus. They didn't notice for a couple days!

Hey, happy hump day everyone.

At the old job back late in the last millennium right after we got into digital restoration and Photoshop work, we had a "old lady" come in with a photo of herself and her dead husband. She loved the photo of her husband but said the photo showed too many wrinkles on her so she wanted me remove her wrinkles but not his. I guess she wanted to look like the young mistress to the old geezer. We took her money and I went to work. I spent a few days with the Windows 3.1 and a 486 CPU and 4 MB of memory and did the magic. In the end I bet most of her grand-kids asked who is the lady next to grandpa? She loved it and was happy.

We had some funny requests for Photoshop work. My favorite two were one guy that had a photo of one side of the cruise ship they were on. He wanted me to flip it around so he could read the name on the other side. No really! he asked that. The other favorite was a lady the only called in and wanted to know how much to remove a wall "in the computer" and tell her what is behind the wall. Yep, really.
