Get off my lawn!
|
My dad was an Air Force officer. Like all branches of the military, they use a LOT of acronyms. He said he was giving a presentation to several generals and other top brass. He had two sentences in a row that were almost all acronyms. He looked at one of the generals that loved acronyms and hated presentations that were not using them, and the general said, damn, that is a lot of acronyms.

Tom has talked to the dispatcher for that whole area of the State. Nota
I am thinking they needed a 2005 Honda Odyssey on Mars.

Where I had the Passat and I was taking so long for them to buy the car back I considered going off the road and rolling it near a deer crossing sign. But figured I would probably get pinned in the car and couldn't explain why I was wearing a helmit.

Get off my lawn!

Morning all.
The boss's wife is making me drive her to Sam's for the fruit run shortly. It is ironic that Sam's has the best selection of fruit around here. Then she is making me take her to a tag agency to get our driver's licenses renewed. That is usually fairly easy and quick. Then the worst....................... We are going to the MALL! AGGGGHHHHH We both have iPhone 6S that are three years old. The batteries are getting old. We have appointments to get the batteries replaced. Apple will do it for $29 until the end of the year. After that it is $69. Lots cheaper than a new iPhone X for sure. The only Apple store in the area is at the mall. It is possible she my drag me by the ear into Dillard's to buy some new jeans. My jeans are all perfectly broken in, in my mind. She says they are all worn out and need to be put in the pile of yard work and car work jeans. ![]() I am pretty sure going to the mall a week before Thanksgiving is way better than a week after, but it is still the mall. Oh woe is me.

Mertnin...
Something went boom outside and the lectriciy winked. Battery back up don't matter if the provider winks off. Used to go to Sears for tools. Now pretty much just the Apple Store and on rare occasion the Men's Wearhouse when I have to dress all fancy for work.

Welp, Sam's at 8:30 is not crowded. Work day at 10:00 was virtually empty of other customers. Just the two of us getting drivers licenses. In and out in 10 minutes. Most of that was filling out the paperwork with the exact information as before. Same name address, phone number, still an organ donor, same birthday. pretty much the same face. Just like last time the photo is way too red, so I look like I just woke up from a bender at the beach. I look real sunburned and my nose and cheeks are really red and sunburned looking. Oh well, it works for an DL.

I saw a comedian once that said he always goes to get his driver's license when he is really drunk. That way he looks the same when the cop pulls him over.

We would take him. We do a lot of "mission" work for people that wouldn't normally afford to live at a place like ours. We get 60% or so of our income from donations.
That said, I think I am glad we are not close. Though if you came to visit, lunch is on me.

It sounds like he thinks they are going to let him out of rehab for Thanksgiving and he is expecting for me to go get him and put him up for a week. Bet they don't know he is wanting out ride in a car to OKC with a fractured lower back.
This summer the wife of my other brother whom has MS and is in a wheel chair feel and broke her hip. They were both pushing around in wheel chairs. I didn't have to go do anything for them because the grandkids came over all the time. And they already had a maid and a cook that fixes my brother's special vegan meals for his MS. Kinda funny while she was in a wheel chair they remodeled their bathrooms to make them more accessible.

Wanna come visit for a week? We are dog friendly and have the space. Have Glen fly you up! Problem solved.
