So what have ya been up to? Anything you can talk about?
There's definitely been a good bit of flooding. I'm hoping for a dry day today.

Mostly just slowly grinding through school while trying to keep the bills paid.

I experienced my best towing drive recently.
A 4 hour long, 30 gallons of fuel climb from Salt Lake City to St George Utah on 15 south.
Clear calm and warm weather and very little traffic.
Ram stock diesel 800lbs of torque crew cab dually with 26 foot enclosed trailer.
Posted Speed limits 75 to 80 when towing too.
One time I was flat in 5th at 75 on a very steep hill.
Otherwise it was always part throttle.
Although on the flat I can get 15mpg towing at 60mph, but climbing for 4 hours at 75/80mph it got down to 9mpg.
Great feeling legally hauling butt towing like that, compared to California where it's 55mph towing but you can cheat it to 64mph most the time.
Although years ago I did get a $400 towing ticket in Bakersfield towing on the 5 north 60mph in a 55mph towing zone, at the same time it was posted 70mph for cars.

Nice tow rig.

No doubt pulling a trailer with a car in it requires a lot of energy to move along at highway speeds. 15 MPG is not bad for that much mass. Often the most expensive part of a rig like that long term, is secure storage costs. In the end it is just a hobby and boats can be a bigger expense than race cars. It is just the cost of a fun hobby.

The trailer was light, no car this time.
We did a 22 hour round trip to pick up this 4 lane slot car track in Salt Lake from Viper Scale racing.
https://viperscaleracing.com/
Called the Game Changer, CNC routed ready to run track with 4 different configurations.
It's in the garage and I should have the track dialed in soon.
Turned the 2 car garage into a part time game room with a plastic tile floor and a ductless 1 ton AC.
Fortunately the detached 8 car garage can hold everything else but the trailers.
One day of real car racing will pay for a year of slot car racing. lol

^^^^ Big boy toys!

I remember slot cars and going to a store front and running on their large tracks. Sorta like a bowling alley. They did not last very long.

I have seen the high end racing simulators wit real feedback in the steering wheels and pedals and tilts and amazing graphics. As you well know it doesn't not hold a candle to the real deal track experience. That slot car track will be fun with kids and grand kids for sure.

Damn that’s a cold slot car track. If I had the space, that’d be way more fun to do while drinking with the neighbors than playing darts! 🤣

So back in school. I am guessing it is not SCAD related.

morning all. 53 going to 77 today. Just about right. Had to make a trip to the ER with the MIL yesterday. She fell, thought it was a possible stroke. Not a full blow stroke but maybe a TIA or oxygen loss. They are really not sure.

We are having 50 degree mornings and low humidity. Just great weather. Kinda hot in the afternoon but as soon as the sun goes down it is great.

Become the parent to your parents sucks. I can't count the number of trips I made to my dad's house to check on him and the house.

So are you helping to restore an old building or some other SCAD project?

One of the clients I have worked with for many years, even when I worked at the previous company was a nice, and very sharp client. Then she got married and changed her last name. No big deal to edit the contact info. Then she got divorced, but kept that name until a couple of years later she got married again. This time her last name made a funny rhyme with her first name and she did not like the way it sounded. So she changed to using her middle name.

I only see her in person once every few years, and we do most business on the phone and with email. I was ready to send her an email about a project we are working on, and all I could think up was her original name and for whatever reason her all new name was hiding in the recesses of my brain.

It finally came to me and I added her old name to her contact info so I can search for either name now in case my memory goes and hides again. Once per year interactions just was not enough to keep her new name accessible.

According to the translate program Duck Duck Go uses that means "not for the language" and that does not help me much as to what you meant.

I did the standard yard work on Saturday and it was almost like cheating. Very low humidity, upper 60s to low 70s and the yard was totally dry. I had so many times this year that the yard was just soaking wet with dew.

We are finally having some wonderful mornings, and only a few hours of hot afternoons and the temps drop fast near sunset.

My wife's 50th high school anniversary is coming up soon. I remember back when I was in high school and homecoming week had a lot of returning classes. The 50th anniversary group was a bunch of total dinosaurs. Dang they looked really old to my teenage eyes. I of course was photographing them. The class of 1923! No doubt the kids at her school will think the same thing.

He school in Enid, OK and my high school in Montgomery, AL are both very similar. Both are the old castle like building three stories tall, built in the very early 1900s, no AC pitiful heat and long halls with lousy lockers, and overcrowded with boomers.

Morning all. Long weekend with another trip to the ER for the MIL. Seems fine now but who knows for how long. Rain today so no outdoor chores for a change.
