We just emerged from the jungle. We saw howler and white-face monkeys, iguanas and other lizards, white-tail deer, and some other critters I don’t know the name of. And tourists, lots and lots of tourists!
I’m drenched in sweat after a few miles of hiking. Time to cool off in the hotel.

We got 8" or so last night again. The roads weren't bad, but there is a town I go through and turn north to get home. It is about 2.5 miles and it was sheer ice on that northerly road last night. Someone didn't see or could not stop in time for a large drift and was 5' up on a plow drift and another car just past that one. Good thing the police were out there to direct traffic around the drift by the tie I got that far. I was lucky to be behind a semi truck. We were going just under 10mph and I kept the truck's Blizzaks close to the centerline where there was snow. The wind would blow and the trailer would slide over to the shoulder. Got off that road onto our road and it was just snow and small, maybe 2-3 foot deep, drifts to go through that 1/2 mile to the house. Then I got to clear the drive in the blizzard like winds.
I hate ice. I really, really hate ice.

we currently have wet sloppy piles of slush. Oh and they are heavy as in roofs are caving in on people.

Yep, ice is the worst. The worst we had was a thick coating of ice on everything, and then it got up to 32.5 degrees, so the ice was wet. It was just stupid slick. My parked car slid sideways from the slight very crown in the middle of the road to drain water to the curbs. Thet was in the bad old days when I had to commute to and from work.

That sucks David. So is it unusual precipitation this year for you all also? We seldom get ice like this.

So just a lot of slush at once this month?
I have to finish the drive tonight since last night there was one section where I could not throw snow without it blowing back everywhere. Not much wind today so I should be able to knock it out in an hour or so.

I head Maui had snow at just over 6,000 feet. They have never seen it down that low.
Our airplane had to go to the instrument hospital. It started having issues with the flight computer. Only $1,400. Cheaper than a lot of cars computers.

At least it didn't happen during an IFR flight!

Yea, but we avoid IFR because if the weather or visibility is that bad, we can’t take good photos. Kinda pointless to fly around in cloudy or low visibility conditions if we can make pretty pictures.

I sometimes wonder if some Government web sites try hard to make using the web portal klunky and hard to use. Filing sales taxes is just silly complex, and illogical. I just had to renew the annual Secretary of State corporate filing to keep the company in good standing. It cost $25 per year and there is a "convenience" fee for using a credit card of a dollar. So $26 bucks per year for the honor of staying in business. Of course if you go past three years, the corporate name is available to anyone, so they could grab the same name and have legal rights to it. As it is we own our name and could sue anyone that opened with the same name. Pretty unlikely, but possible.
Anyway, you log in and are supposed to just know your filing number. So the real first step is look that up, and it changes on each visit. SO find the filing number, fill in all the blanks that are the exact same as last time. Go through all that, and then you long in with a username and password, and then wind through a maze to find the place where you can tell them to use a credit card, then enter the document number for the filing you just requested, then enter the CC number, then you "sign" the document by typing in your name one more time. That generates an email, and the send me a link to download a zip file, that has the new certificate buried 5 folders deep. Why in the heck do they put 5 folders of nothing to put in the certificate? Oh well, it is done.
