Got my weekly electricity uaage today. With these outdor temps hear my typical usage is 13 to 15 KWh. But it shows this past Saturday only using 3.5 KWh.

My Electricity bill for my 1750 sqft home is lower than Bob's one bedroom apartment in Tulsa.

Another beautiful day here. 58 degrees now and the high is mid to upper 70s. I am back into shorts at least through Wednesday. It is supposed to cool off on Thursday, so jeans may be needed then.

Mr toad is still trilling away. Noisy little bastage. Hopefully Mrs toad will come along soon and make lots of eggs that become tadpoles. We need some alga cleanup, and the fish will get lots of free munchies.

Dang, the power went out. I am sitting in my office listening to the Bose Bluetooth speaker, and using my iPhone to connect to Pelican. And the battery backups are all beeping. I will give it 20 minutes more before shutting down all the UPS batteries. The DVR is the biggest user and the internet modem and router is on a different battery. The good news is the weather is so nice.

The power company sent me an email telling me I have no power. No 5hit Sherlock. I guess if I was away from home that might be useful to know. I was going to run to the store, but realized my garage door is now in manual mode. I might have to bend over and open it manually! How horrible. This is just a horrible first world problem. Actually much of the country has no garages for car owners, so it’s an isolated partial first world problem. The humanity!

Morning all. Prepping for another trip to Portland later this week. The sad part..........up at 4:30am to hit the road at 5am to be at work by 8am.

Yeah, we are back into the electrified world!

I waited until the network's UPS was down to 30 minutes of juice left, and powered everything down. I left to go to my business partner's house for some business related stuff. Grab a flashlight and go into garage, pull handle to release the opener, manually move the electric deadbolt, open door manually, and pull out, then lower the door, go to our the back door use key to get in, go inside, go back into the garage, over to the lock, manually lock it, go back into the house, and out the back door, and start the car and get to the end of the driveway, and my wife texted me that the power just came back on. Golly that was so much fun, now reverse steps, (of that really long sentence above) and get garage door hooked up.

I guess it is Monday.

When I get home I have a document to print. My printer is a Dell color laser printer that works great, but in Microsoft's world for some reason it prefers to print on the network printer port. It is hooked in via USB and I prefer that port, but Microsoft (or some program) keeps changing the default printer to the network port. That works fine in most circumstances. After a full shut down, for some reason the printer network connection is FUBAR. Grrrr.

I guess it is Monday.

So next I will fix that. Then I can print the document.

Cool, I fixed it!.

Years of computer usage and skill at diagnosing computers was used.

I turned it off, and back on. Ta Da. All is cool. I have the printer on a surge suppressor, but it is not on a battery backup. So it came on before the network or any computers. It could not find a network since it was not there yet.

The old off switch did the trick. The number one fix for more computer issues than any other thing.

I have seen my iPhone doing totally weird things before. Simple restart and it was cured.

I was at my pharmacists a little over two years ago and the owner's wife was there and her iPhone was in the twilight zone. Photos were just stuck all over the display, and in places they should not be. It was not working as a phone. She had fought with it for a while, and finally drove down to the store to see if someone could help. I happened to show up and asked if she had restarted it recently. She did, and it was fixed. She figured I was a genius and of course with my modesty, I accepted that title.

Between my Samsung flipphone/smarthphone that did handwriting recognition and the iPhone had a Win2000 smartphone. Had to reboot it every day or it would lock-up

Still do not understand why the iphone plays notification sounds while you are talking on the phone. It should switch to vibrate but doesn't.

Hey it ain't Monday anymore. It is 60 and clear outside. Nice weather until the Texas panhandle starts to blow again later today.

I have to guess the CIA-FBI and the extraterrestrials are sneaking in at night as poking buttons on my coffee maker. Either that or I am doing it by mistake, and I know that is simply not possible. I thought I made a mistake once, but I was wrong. Anyway they sneak in so quietly the dogs don't even hear them. Probably using the beaming technology like Star Trek. Last night they set the coffee pot to 2 hours and 7 minutes ahead. I don't use the timer function on it, I just make the coffee, feed the dogs, and my coffee is ready.

I have to hold down the button for the hour for several seconds to get it to change time, so it is not a simple bump into the button thing. Gotta be the CIA! Yea, that makes the most sense.

The fact the power was off yesterday and I never reset the coffee pot has nothing to do with it.

The power company sent me an email this morning stating they show that my power is back on, and if that is not correct to contact them. Yea, like I was going to be waiting this long without chatting with them.

My power has not been interupted as far as I can tell.
I could have passed out and missed it, but all my battery powered and plugin clocks show the same time.

Morning all. The little one (18) takes his drivers test today. Lets hope he passes. Tomorrow its off to Portland at 5am again.

Wow, waiting until 18 to get a license?

I would have to look at a calendar but as I remember my 16th birthday was on a weekend. So it was the day after that I went to get my full license. I had my learners permit the day I could get it.

It was a different era back then.

Edit: Dang faulty memory! I just looked it up, it was a Wednesday. Maybe it was the day I got my learners permit I had to wait. It has been a looooong time.
