My old steel blade edger was bough new in 1981. It starts on the first pull. The carb has some mysterious leak if I fill the gas tank all the way up. It has to be a seat in the float that can't hold back that much fuel. It is keep it at 1/2 a tank or less, it is fine. Someday I might fix it. I thought it was just the 38 year old rubber hose, but that was not the cure. I will get a carb kit someday and tackle it.

Assuming you have adequate fuel pressure, I would tend to suspect a temperature sensor that thinks the engine is warm and does not activate the cold-start circuit.

Morning all. Its another rainy day here. I never did get the 911 out for full tank of gas and stabil for the winter. I'll have to watch the weather from now on.

Thanks Sammy. It fired up immediately when I connected the coil to give it spark. I had it disconnected to turn the engine over a bit to get oil moving around before actually running the engine. Fuel starvation is likely, as I heard my fuel pump begging for more fuel. I’m checking the fuel filter this morning.

Couldn't fix the carb leak on the tiller, but it ran good and only leaked when setting and not running. So I put a shut-off on the fuel line.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to be an accountant. I have been beating on QuickBooks for the company file. My head hurts. Part of it is our own fault. We have a good client that pays us for flying his projects. He is a good trusted guy, and we give him a good deal and he keeps us busy. Both my business partner and a contractor pilot are busy sometimes. So I get CC charges from two states at once. I have to keep each charge as billed to the right client, and of course he wants them separated from the two different companies he is charging. My last CC bill was staggering, and if I just paid off the minimum, it will take 29 years to pay off. Of course we pay statement balance so zero interest paid by us.

Just the bookkeeping is a strain on my feeble mind. When I go to my CPA and watch him zip though the numbers and do his job, it makes me truly understand, some people have brains way different than mine. We are both alike in many ways, just not for numbers.

When Mom started getting dimentia one of the first places it showed up was reconciling her checkbook. I encouraged her an sometimes it took a couple of days, but she would figure it out. Once time she asked my brother to help and instead of encouraging her, he just took over her checkbook. Didn't really help her, instead it made her feel like she couldn't do it herself.

My wife is an accounting supervisor for a company, but doesn't do CPA type stuff at all.
Once she gets a hold of stuff that's in her area of specialty, the sparks fly and I get out of the way.

When in H remember taking the Armed Servoces Vocaton Aptitudee Battery, ASVAB. It was designed to let you know what you were good at. I aced everything except the clerical section. Guess that is accounting because it is one of those things I just don't excell at. Recruiters called me alot for a couple of years after taking that test. If they would have paid for my college education, I would have signed up and done a tour.

I had a heavy dose of memory lane this morning. I went to see my dentists for my routine cleaning and inspection of the teeth. The journey to his office is the same way I went to work for many years.

I have gone to the same dentist since 1978. His office has not changed one bit. He has the same cartoon taped to the same spot that is from a calendar in February 1978, and the same posters on the wall about periodontal diseases. Same decor everywhere. My wife goes to him as well.

His office is two blocks from my first apartment, and three blocks from the house my dad was raised at from age 6 to the day he received his commission into the Air Force. Three blocks in a different direction is the church my dad attended from 1930 to the day he died.

3/4 of a mile north is the last house those same grandparents lived in. Two miles away from the house my parents bought and lived in when they moved to OKC after dad retired from the Air Force.

My other grandparents lived 2 miles due east.

Yea, it is 92 today, 59% humility, and heat index of 101. Fall ain't here yet.

Likely we will go from HOT to ice storms with no fall.
