Looked at the specs for the new radidio. It says USB control but not carplay. The carplay2air is for doing the USB carplay connection over bluetooth.

The only display on it is a text display. My wife's Macan has full car play. Porsche sells some stereos for my 911 that are full blown carplay. Only $1,400 or so.

It simply does not interest me in a car. I am the wrong market for that.

Phew, the yard is edged and mowed. The heat and humidity is on the decline for a few days.

I stared getting calls from the local Infinity dealer. They are the same folks that have the Porsche dealership. Evidently someone was looking at a new Infinity and gave them my number. They called, and I told them it was not me. They called from a different number, and I told them it still was not me.

They sent me an text asking if they could send more texts with information about their Infinity QX80. I then replied, I hope a human is reading this. It was not me that inquired about any fancy Datsuns. I am not interested. They replied they would remove my number for the list.

I know a few salesmen from the Porsche dealership, and they all know me by face.

The boy has decided he likes to mow. I just have to convince him that drifting the tractor around the yard is not the proper way to mow. We have some, unique, patterns in the yard now.

I loved mowing when I was a kid. I have family home movies of me pushing a lawn mower and I was almost too small to push it. I still like to mow and edge and the entire process for the instant gratification. Shut off the equipment, and the yard looks great. That just does not happen when cleaning house.

As an old geezer the sweating and getting tired part sucks, but instant gratification is great.

Made a LOT of money mowing yards as a teen thru college. $100 a day in the late 70's. Would mow for half as much as everyone else if they let me mow it every week.

Looks like my new maid wants 60 bucks every other week cleaning and 25 every week mowing if i provide the gas. AND she speaks English as her first languge.

Like many American kids, I mowed lawns for most of my disposable income as a kid. I even mowed a few laws after I bought my house. I figured out photographing a wedding was harder work, and often just as sweaty, but less dirty than mowing, but it payed better.

My business partner mowed a lot of yards when he was in high school. All of his class mates were broke high school kids working at the grocery store or flipping burgers. He always had a lot of cash from mowing.

My neighbor asked me why I don't just hire it done. I told him I need the exercise, and I like the instant gratification. When I was laid up with my hip replacement (8 years ago) I hired the 81 year old man that lives in my neighborhood. It was weird for me to see some octogenarian mowing my yard while I just hobbled around on a walker or cane.

Did lots in my youth until after college. Then worked at the company that just laid me off on my 40th anniversary.

Youthful endevors.
Mowing (got a van and mowed 45 yards once a week, also the company went to after college, and 7 area Long John Silvers)
Car Waxing (usually Saturdays, one or two cars a Saturday)
Electronics Assembly (part time for 2 different companies)
Gardening (took care of dads large lawn, garden, fruit trees, and had a large Okra patch, even sold fresh Okra to local grocery store. Looked like hazmat in my protective getup to keep from getting itchy picking okra)
Did some art, drawings and paintings, but my Mom would not let me sell them despite people wanting to buy. $100 to $500.
Oh yeah and did some custom high end stereo installs. In homes, restaurants and a Bank.
And helped my Dad do electrical wiring like ceiling fans, room add ons etc, and wired a new vetrinary hospital for large animals.

Friends of my Dad tole me I was going to be a millionare by the time I turned 20. However, after cars and dating/concerts all that work just paid for college. At least I didn't have to get a student loan.

One of the project we just did is in the print layout and image approval stage. The area has a soccer field in it that must be undergoing some sort of leveling or major renovations. The field is real funny looking and ugly right now. They asked if I can make it look like green grass. I don't have a grass field button in Photoshop. Of course there are some shadows from light poles and stands, so it is a challenge. If it were easy, anyone could do it.

Besides mowing as a kid, virtually every penny I have ever earned involved photography. I did great in the days before video cameras shoot 16 mm movies for coaches for the football training films. Weddings and the occasional party or events to photograph. Of course news photography for several years, and legal photography. And of course a career working at a photolab doing every possible aspect of anything photographic imaginable.

We had an old laptop that has a broken screen. Gave it to dad to connect to his TV to watch MAV-TV (24/7 racing, mostly dirt) and some YouTube like Project Farm. Had to get a wireless keyboard with a built in trackpad to use from his bed. He was excited and asked what else it can do and I said he can stream all our movies and TV shows as well. Next thing you know he will be getting a smart phone!

If he likes cars, show him Jay Leno's garage on YouTube.

It is a real time sucker for me. I just watched this one about the Mercedes 600. It was built as a car with the very best of everything, cost no object. The power functions of all the accessories are not electric, the are hydraulic. He said a new window switch today is $16,500 for a switch!

Very complicated car to restore. All the worlds dictators had them. Mao had like 27 of them.

JLG would be a good bookmark for him. He was a big Chevy guy in the 60s and had a couple new Chevelle SS 396 with a four speeds. He had Mopar vans for work and just couldn't kill them so in the mid-70s he started buying Mopar cars. He always wanted a Viper since they came out and gave serious thought on a last year Dodge Magnum SRT-8. He likes the Cobra well enough but when I told him we were buying a Porsche he was leery until he saw it. He thought it was one with a whale tail which he finds ugly as heck. He thought our plain long hood was nice light on power. I guess the brutal V8 in the Cobra spoiled him.

One was a Coke plant not sure of the other one. I was not needed based on the fact that they need someone with a lot of packaging experience so they could just hand off the project and go. Nope not my sandbox.

Doesn't Coke usually come in bags anyway?
