Weathermen are right 100% of the time.
90% right all summer and 10% right all winter.

It's still summer here, a few days in the 80s and they say up to 90 Friday.

The ones in El Centro were right most of the time. Hot and sunny most days, sometimes windy.

I was stationed as an air traffic controller at Navy El Centro for 2 years, we had no weather.
Visibility would be over 100 miles on good days.
Spring time the wind would be at 25 knots right down the runway where they practiced FCLPs (Field carrier landing practice).
That and the winter home of the Blue Angels, the small town of Seeley and perhaps the worst polluted river in California, the New River.

New River California pollution
The New River, which runs from Mexicali, Mexico to Calexico in the United States and empties into the Salton Sea, is bringing sewage, industrial chemicals and trash across the border. Air pollution from factories in Baja California's capital is also impacting the health of residents on both sides of the border.

My old boss used to go fishing in the Salton Sea where the New River empties. He hasn't died yet, but he did marry weird.

We used to see the Blue Angles practice all the time.

Great flying weather for me 360 days a year out there and it always rained during the fair.

We used to go Jeeping and dirt bike riding north of Seeley.

Same here on a dirt bike.
Ever go after it rained?
The mud was like glue, it would wrap around the tires till the bike would no longer roll.

Having fun here!

The mean old boss had his wife ctell me we "need" to go to Sam's for another fruit run. Got that done.

I received an email from Crutchfield that the new Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB is in stock, so I want to order one. I went to the web page and it says it is out of stock. So wither the page was not updated, or they sold them out in no time. I will call and see if any are left.

My 911s stereo looks out of place, and it had crappy sound. The Blaupunkt shoud fix those issues.

Not out there after a rain, that stuff is like trying to roll through JB Weld before it sets up. I would take that over the hard packed dirt with rain because the hard dirt is like concrete covered in grease and tree roots do not move. Three months of physical therapy later...

We had the stump grinder guy grind up two tree stumps. The one in the back yard was little and was just 20 bucks worth. The Bradford Pear stump in the front was a 28 year old tree. I used to throw a hose over it when I watered the yard before I put in the sprinkler system. It was a big stump, and took a while. It was not cheap, but it was worth it to have the stump gone. That machine is a mean mama monster. It is like a giant four wheel 25 HP chain saw. It just eats up the the wood and throws chips everywhere for 30 to 50 feet. I have chips all over the front yard. And a pile of them where the stumps was. We will scoop up some of the extra chips and put them in the compost pile. The rest will be covered with turf, or more likely a flower bed knowing my master gardener wife. More to edge around, less yard to mow.

T-shirt and shorts weather around here. I was out with my 7-yr-old just now, and he asked me why it's so hot out.

We are supposed to have 50-50 weather today. 50 degrees and 50 MPH "breeze". It is just crazy with a big pressure system in Missouri that is funneling the winds and the jet stream is piling on wind. It least it is just wind, and not earthquakes, fires storms, mudslides and rolling blackouts.

We had 4" of non-liquid precipitation last night. Today it is calling for liquid coming down and freezing after the fact. I hate that.

It is 45 degrees and mostly sunny. The "brisk breeze" of 45 to 50 MPH winds keep the wind chill down.

We drove the 95 miles to Weatherford, OK in the 911 to get our vaccine shots. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. The winds were pretty much blowing at a 45 degree angle to the interstate. On the trip out we had a brisk headwind. At times the windshield wipers would bounce around. The speed limit is 75, and with a 40 MPH headwind it was like driving 115 MPH as far as the aerodynamics of the car were concerned. I had a pretty much constant turn in the steering wheel. It was interesting and a little scary passing some trucks. The fully loaded ones looked OK, but some were drifting around, and a truck blew over just yesterday. I would be sure the path was clear to pass the truck, and do it quickly.

The trip back was less scary as the trucks were getting blown to the outside of the road and not into the passing lane. RVs were having a really hard time.

The center where the shots were administered would only let the groups in that were scheduled in 15 minute groups. We had a 12:15 appointment, so they let in 75 or so people in our group and made us wait until 12:15 to get in. After the paperwork and the shot we had to wait 15 minutes then we left, so it was right at 40 minutes total time to get shot at get out of there.

The guy doing me was a student at the local university in the local pharmacy program, and so was the guy the gave my wife her shot. Mine was a 2nd year student. I asked and he said he had practiced on oranges, and rabbits but he had only given shots to dorm mates before. He said after a week of this he has had lots of practice. I thanks him and said good luck with the pharmacy class.

They are only doing the first line responders and medical staff, and those over 65. There was a plethora of grey hair at the place today. They are not opening it up to the younger whippersnappers until the 65 and older group are mostly vaccinated.

I am round too.

There was a classic "little old lady" that was waiting with us on the south side of the building, out of the wind, and in the sun. We chatted a little and headed to the door for the 12:15 opening on the west side and she was almost blown backwards as she leaned into the wind. I was afraid if the wind gust stopped she would fall flat on her face.

Yer just a puppy!

I am happy to report that I have zero arm soreness, and the only evidence of an injection is the tiny needle hole has a hardly visible very tiny spot of dried blood.

They probably gave us a placebo!
