Sid, and particular 928 forum for selling the watches?

The sale prices will all go to a tree planting charity of some sort. I need to figure that out eventually. The family asked that people plant trees in his honor. We have planted three so far this year in my yard. I figure some group will gladly accept the money, but that is a problem for after the watches are gone.

We were out yesterday afternoon finishing the last new tree ring. That chore is done.

No I just need to find a good place to sell the watches for a fair price. I guess I can try out my Google -Fu. Actually I hate Google, and I use Duck Duck Go but Duck Duck Go Fu just sounds ridiculous.

Rennlist. That’s the group that he designed them for. Just a quick pass through shows some of the Seikos last sold in around 2015 for like $150/each and the one with the card from Valencia time center was around a grand new, and I think I’ve seen some sell for around $1500 used.

I’d imagine if you posted in the rennlist 928 group that you have RKDs watches for sale, they’d move fast for a fair price.

Another option would be to just reach out to Chris at Valencia time center. He is who set it all up. I bet he could move them easily.

Wow, thanks! I will try to contact him. I did start a thread here on Pelican to give the Pelicans first shot at them.

porsche4life 03-30-2021 11:40 PM

Man this place is getting quiet. More than 12 hours with no responses!

Noah930 03-30-2021 11:47 PM

Not sure if Chris is still there. They moved a block away a couple years ago, and only recently did I stop by. In the 3 times I dropped by within the last month for some repair work, not once did I find him there.

Morning all. Chilly again today. I'd have to scrape to move the car.

GH85Carrera 03-31-2021 06:43 AM

I looked up Valencia Time, and the State of California say the business was disbanded.

I am getting some interest, I just want to get a real world value of the watches, and prefer to sell them to someone here on Pelican, or Rennlist. I joined up on Rennlist for the first time ever. With just a couple of posts I am a unknown and untrusted stranger. I mentioned I post on Pelican, and I am known here.

There's still a Valencia Time Center. I was just there last week. But I don't think Chris is the owner any longer. He also had a 2nd watch store in a mall down by Orange County IIRC. That was run by a brother or other family member. I don't know if that place still exists. Or, the other option is to go looking for him over on F-chat. That's where I was first introduced to him.

I thought you coastal state people had it more temperate. We don't even have frost any longer.

Porsche-poor 03-31-2021 09:42 AM

We need the clouds at this time of year to keep the heat in at night.

Porsche-poor 04-01-2021 06:32 AM

Morning all. two more days till a vacation.

GH85Carrera 04-01-2021 06:34 AM

I guess it is a vacation, but Alaska in April is no the ideal time. Enjoy the time with your daughter.

Eat some fresh caught Salmon for me.

Porsche-poor 04-01-2021 06:35 AM

I'll let the wife eat the salmon for you.

flipper35 04-01-2021 09:31 AM

Smoked is pretty good. Both kids like salmon steaks.

Porsche-poor 04-01-2021 09:53 AM

I am not a big fan of pick fish. More of a halibut and shrimp fan.

flipper35 04-01-2021 09:59 AM

I mostly like fresh fish like panfish and bass and trout.

GH85Carrera 04-01-2021 10:51 AM

Fresh Alaska salmon is good eating. When we did the Alaska two week vacation I ate lots of it. And lobster and crab and with a cruise it is hard to ever get hungry. One week were were on land, the second week we were on the ship. The week on land was busy and just go go go, get to bed late, get up early. The the cruise week is lounge around and rest and eat.

We went the last few days of June and into July. It was nice.

flipper35 04-01-2021 12:04 PM

I don't generally eat lobster, but if we go visit Maine I will try it again. Have to find someone reliable that knows the New England area. :)

GH85Carrera 04-01-2021 01:15 PM

Besides organ meat, there is not much I will not eat. My guts are that of an old man, so I avoid really hot or spicy foods. I never did care much for curry from bland to spicy. Back in youth I loved spicy foods. Now the pain and suffering make it just not worth it.
