At least it didn't stop on 007!

Yea, 777 would be a the lucky mega jackpot and maybe they would pay their invoice on time.
It is funny how different numbers are "lucky" to different cultures. In China 9 is a lucky number, yet in Japan 9 is unlucky. Number 3 is lucky in Korea. Of course lots of Christians around the world think 666 is unlucky, and an evil number. I am not even remotely worried about the number, it is just a digit. I have no superstitions at all. |
Hey Dave, how are you doing today?
I uploaded a 12 gigabyte point cloud to my business partner yesterday. Some of that is cheating in that a LAS file is just text, lots of numbers. It zipped down to 4 GB. I uploaded that in just a short time, less than 15 minutes. It just boggles my mind. I was on my 4th or 5th computer at home before I even owned a hard drive big enough to hold that 12 gig file. And to upload it in a very reasonable time is just something I would have never dreamed about in the day of DOS. I had no concept of terabyte hard drives. It is just astonishing to me to have lived through it. I guess it it much like my old boss. He was born in a time when there was no radio broadcast. Radio was a neat new thing. Then TVs and to see man walk on the moon was just an astonishing accomplishment. My 12 gif file is a long way from man on the moon, but just as unbelievable to me. |
Morning all. Everything went fine. Pending pathology I graduated back to the 7 year program. They found only two this time.
|
Congrats on the graduation!
|
no kidding I was not looking forward to another one in 3 years.
|
The procedure isn't nearly as bad as the prep for it.
|
that it is. I slept thru the whole thing.
|
Morning all. TGIF. Looks like showers this weekend so that should keep down on the yardwork.
|
Saturday morning we were outside digging holes and making one more garden area in the corner of the yard. Two bushy trees planted, mostly to make shade for the Japanese maple. They have some growing to do first.
Today is mow the yard, after I get the F1 race watched. Yesterday it was mid 80s today it is 54 degrees with a high of maybe 70. |
Morning all. The weekend of chores complete its back to work for me.
|
We had a weekend of chores as well. We had one more this morning. a run to Sam's for fruit. They keep changing the opening hours. It keeps changing between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Today it was back to 8:00 so we sat in the parking lot for 10 minutes waiting for 8:00.
|
keeps you on your toes that way.
|
We had company over the weekend so no regular chores.

Agh!
I am fighting a project that is challenge. It is a sugar cane area in Louisiana that is near a swamp, and has all sorts of little irrigation canals. Every one of the ponds, and rivers and canals are a nightmare. With open water and the sun straight overhead, and the camera looking down many of the photos have flash ups that are just reflections of the sun. It looks terrible, so I have to go in an tell the computer to use a specific photo that does not have a flare up. Since we fly in strips, like mowing the yard the forward overlap and side to side overlap (sidelap) is high, so finding an image that is good is usually easy. The computer just picks an image that fits from the GPS data, and then blends it into the mosaic. Just eleventy zillon more to do. |
My daddy always tole me it is good to be busy even if the work is crappy.

The farmer says it is pretty obvious I am feeding my pig some apples. The county agent asks would it not be faster to pick the apples and just toss them the the pig? The farmer pauses for a second, and says yea, likely so, but what's time to a pig? This project is just time to the pig. The client will never know I spent the time to make it look right. He likely could not care less, as they are photos of the cane field, and elevation data, not the irrigation ditches. The ditches are there, just not as nice looking as we like them to be. With or without the glare, the position and elevation is the same. |
I am done with looking at swamps for now! Whooo Hoooo.
It is back down to 51 degrees this morning. This late in May is supposed to be warm. Oh well, the weather does what it wants. Today I start loading the 911 for my trip to Texas tomorrow. Actually unloading and loading and moving things around. I will put all the small stuff I car in the trunk like the lug wrenches, sockets and the stuff to change the fan belt, and air compressor, and paper towels and oil and so on into a bag that can be pulled out easily at the track. Eagles Canyon should be fun. It is was resurfaced just last year and all smooth again. |
Morning all. Sounds like fun. Will the boss be letting you go or are you sneaking off to play race car driver?
