No doubt.

I am a stubborn old man. For the last 30 years and 373,000 miles my Elky cooling system has had the same brand of fluid in it. Water pumps last me about 70,000 miles, but replacements are free. At the rate I drive now 70K miles will be a long time.

The starter, alternator, water pump, and power steering pump are all free replacements more than once. Just my labor.

Renewed the Porsche tags for 5 years today. So nice to have that option for under $100!

Stijn!!

We still have to do it a year at a time. I can do it on-line and just sit her at my computer. It is just 20 bucks for the personalized tag and I think 22 for the real tag. It cost me a whole dollar extra to do it on-line. If I am going to the parts store or to a couple of restaurants for lunch I will just swing by a tag agent and get it done in 2 minutes.

I got up and put on my "work clothes" or work in the garage and repair man clothes that can get dirty and I don't get yelled at clothes. Lots to do today. I hate working on florescent bulb fixtures. I will be changing those to LED bulbs.

They are supposed to be drop in replacements, but the only come on properly 20% of the time. So I can eliminate the ballast, and just wire them up directly and they always come on. It just sucks working overhead.I

Why does it cost a dollar extra to do it online, Glen?

The mailing fee. They have to mail a new sticker for the corner of the tag to show it is current.

I have all three of the 4 foot long dual bulb fixtures in the closet rewired to use the LED bulbs. The ballast is gone in all of em.

I know the house builder hires a licensed electrician to work with code, and it gets inspected. The electrician must have hired some real beginners to install the fixtures. One of them had two different sizes of screws to hold the ballast in place. One did not have the fixture grounded at all, but it is now. One had all the bulb connectors in crooked, that was a real puzzler.

It sure is bright in the closet now. There is a slight delay of 1/10 of a second for the bulbs to come on. Just a bit weird, but I guess we will get used to it. Now I have a big box of the old florescent tubes to haul to the waste disposal site. Our city has a site where I can bring the brake fluid, antifreeze, and mercury laden bulbs to be disposed of properly.

It is June first, and I have the central HVAC system set on heat, and it is 57 degrees outside. My Bermuda grass hates this cool weather. It never got into the 70s on Memorial day. Normally we are in the 90s this time of year.

Our AC system has only run for a few days all year.

At 9:00 AM it is sill 57 degrees and misting. I think we moved to London or London moved here. We had nearly 2 inches of rain yesterday. Still some more rain predicted for today.

It beats the hell out of the February weather with ice storms, but in June it is supposed to be hot.

The mean ol boss made me wash the boss's wife's Macan. She does help so it goes a lot faster, but it is all clean and pretty again. The forecast is for a wet week, so she may have to stay home this week. I really want to wash the Elky, but with rain forecast for almost every other day it seems pointless.

Right there is your problem. If you had left it dirty the sun would be out.

One of my buddies recently bought a really pretty Porsche 718 GT4. We have had a month of rainy weather and I told him it was all his fault. He keeps washing it and it keeps raining.

Wow, we are up to 68 degrees and the humidity is down to only 82%. It was 100% humidity for a while. That makes the "heat index" of 69.

It ain't quite that bad, but it is rather soggy out there. If the rain holds off for a while I will "get" to mow and edge and the other fun things in the yard.

When I replaced my antifreeze I also put on a new overflow bottle for the radiator. The old one was once a nice white, but after many years and lots of use it is rather dirty brown and rather impossible to see the level of the antifreeze. The new bottle either has a slow leak or the hose connection is leaking. So I will either put the old on back on, or if it is just the hose connection double clamp it.

Phew.

The swamp is mowed. In the 22 years we have lived here the soil was the wettest I have ever had to mow. The actual grass was dry since I did not start until 2:30 PM. The ground just underneath it was muddy soup. I left some wheel tracks and foot prints. My legs were brown spotted from the weed eater. I would fertilize, but I can't bring myself to run the sprinkler system today. If the rains hold off I may fertilize in a few days.
