We have another 65 degree day today and tomorrow. Just fantastic weather. I plan to do my last mowing of the year tomorrow and mow up the leaves and weeds, and fescue that has grown over the last month. We have had several hard freezes, so the growth is pretty much over now.

A lot of the leaves are on the curb attached to the remains of the trees that were cut down. The city says only 10% of the pickup is done so far. I am betting it will be late January or February before they get to us. The city is 620 square miles. It surrounds totally a dozen or so other towns that use OKC trash service. It will be a while before it is all picked up.

We have really nice weather this week. Relative to what it could be anyway. In the 40s most of the week.

Our daughter has been doing a lot of the tree cleanup in Tulsa and replanting them.

We have bought one tree so far. A Ginko tree. I was "allowed" to dig a hole in the compost pile to plant it temporarily for it to overwinter. It is still in the plastic pot so the roots will be confined for the winter. We still need to have the stumps ground out for the two trees that were lost.

I hope your daughter is not planting any Bradford Pear trees. Those thing should be illegal for this state. They don't hold up in winds or ice very well.

Since it is in the parks I am sure they are state approved.

I don't know why they don't let her group pick.

Today is yard work and garage work day. Gonna edge and mow and pick up leaves. Then I need to do an oil change on the El Camino. It is due for the 372,000 mile oil change. I need to dig out the manual and figure out how to reset the clock, and then get the display to show the name of the song instead of the time. The stereo is a Retro-Sound unit and it looks right in the dash, but pretty mediocre sound. It is like they took the name of the company too far and they wanted it to sound like a 1960s portable transistor radio.

That's close.
I draw on a computer.
They print the paper and let some engineer sign it.
They then take it to the local government office where they hand out slips of paper for large fees.
It gets built and I start some thing else.
Rinse and repeat.

All that equals paycheck security. Like most people, I never wanted a career, I just wanted a steady paycheck.

We do sorta the same thing, only different. We get in an airplane, fly to a site or a city that is built, and photograph it all is stereo and build a 3D point cloud of the everything on the ground. Then with lots of wiz-bang software and some tedium we draw out the outline of every object on the ground, and put them in a layer of like items. So all the building in one layer, all the bushes in another, curbs and street marking and fire plugs and utility poles, all get a layer. It is a full plan map of a location. They can then measure and plan for the future.

The yard is all edged, mowed and leaves bagged, and dumped on the compost pile. I went ahead and winterized the lawn equipment. I replaced the air filter and changed the oil on my mower.

I put it up on the lift to avoid having to bend over or sit on the ground to work on it. Yep, I am lazy!

He sorta vanished, and if I called or texted or sent email I got no answer. We are long time friends but we are guys that talked about everything under the sun but never got into emergency contacts so I had no phone numbers to call. I finally just Googled the company he used to work for, and found his brother and his name and work email and I sent an email.

I will not get into all the details since this is a public forum and it is personal information. The real problem is his housekeeper - nurse - caretaker lady took a one week vacation for some personal family time. The day before she returned Richard fell and broke his arm right above the elbow. He has discussed his past strokes and that is part of the recovery process. He is in a rehab hospital right now. The first night he was there his phone vanished. Hopefully they can get the carrier to make it a brick but he will need a new phone. While at the rehab hospital he contracted Covid19.

I will talk to his helper lady today and find out how he is coping with Covid. Hopefully he has a mild case and not a bad reaction.

Morning all.

Awe crap. Richard needs a break not a whole ton of bricks tossed at him. Well if you do hear from him tell him we are thinking about him.

Start a go-fund me for a new phone for him?

He got a break, unfortunately it isn't the kind he needs.
