I had a plumeria tree outside my bedroom window at Hickam AFB when we lived there. That tree was 20 feet tall and huge. Two years of that kinda put me off the smell of plumeria. My room often smelled like a lei, and that gets old after a few months.
![]() Those are pretty. The pink ones usually smelled more then the white ones. Back in my single days and living at my bachelor house, I got into roses. I had 18 rose bushes, and all summer had roses like mad. I used to just give them to ladies at random. The bank tellers, grocery store clerks, and even waitresses.

My roses thrived in the heat, but they were watered often, and had a good root system. More sun time meant less fungus.
My wife takes care of all flowers, and we only have one rose bush. There is a new rose fungus that hit this part of the country. It is blown by the wind, so it will get most of roses, unless it is a resistant strain. We had a fantastic climbing rose on the fence buy the edge of the driveway. Lots of people admired it, and it was 10 or 12 year old, but the damn fungus killed it.

Were is that?
As someone that lives in a city that was mostly just grass land and prairie and and only had a handful of buildings on April 21st 1899 and then 5,000 people over night on April 22, 1889 it is weird to see really old buildings.

Sorry those pictures are from at least three different cities.
Top two are Gaudi arch. in Barcelona I think. The next is from Granada where the money was given to Columbus to sail west. The rest are from Seville at different places. The pictures of the bridge in Ronda are to large to upload.

Yep, it is indeed Friday.
I stopped at the local Porsche dealer yesterday to pick up a few parts I ordered. Some small stuff that they will order and sell to me with no shipping costs. Pelican wanted more to ship them than the parts cost. Their car lot is so empty. They are parking the few cars they have sideways across the spaces to fill up the lot some. They even have a horrid looking fiberglass 356 clone done by someone with years of working on rice rockets. I have no idea what they want for it, and what the engine is. The stupid huge flared fenders and the paint roller paint job made me walk past it like it was going to attack me. Yuck. I don't mind outlaws at all, but it was was horrid. Something done in a back yard by a meth head tripping out.

It is likely a VW bug with a lot of bad work done to it. I would not accept it for free.
Way back in the mid 1970s a buddy that knew I drove a 914 dropped by in his new to him 356 speedster. He had just bought it, and wanted to know whet I thought of it. The floors were so rusty the carpet was sagging and all that kept your feet off the ground. It had a VW 40 HP engine in it and was rusty everywhere. If he could have stored it in a dry garage for 50 years and bring it out today it would be worth fixing. Fixed up it would be 1.5 million. Likely it was sent to the scrap yard back then.

As the treasurer for our PCA region I mail out checks for club expenses. One of the checks vanished and the person never got it, and I mailed it on the 17th of May. It came back today with the corner where the stamp was just ripped away, and most of the address of the recipient missing. Of course the routing and checking account info is gone as well. No doubt that postage readers have problems on occasion, and we got lucky this time.
It has some severe damage, but it was just a check and it was not a vital check so we got lucky. The postal system did not refund my stamp, or the cost of a new check, but I think the club can afford it.

A few months back we got an envelope from the USPS and inside was just a small part of a wedding announcement that was supposed to be sent to a neighbor. I took it over to them. They know who it had come from and were expecting it.

Dang spammers are in overdrive. And almost all of them are just stupid and annoying. A few are cold calls from other businesses. I don't care how good they are, I don't need their payroll or business management help.
