He had 15,881 post in the thread. The creepy part is he just beat out RKDinOKC AKA Richard buy just a few post. My friend Richard died a few years ago during Covid. Richard was indeed a real friend as we at lunch together at least one per week. He lived just a couple of miles away from me.

I have been posting in this thread since pretty much the beginning. It is a crazy amount of posts in the thread for me. I miss the input of many of the other long time contributors.

On occasion Pelicans would pop in and ask what the tread was about. We told them to read it all from the beginning.

In reality, it was like Seinfeld, no real subject, just chatting on different topics from nipple lube, toothpaste to car maintenance or romance.

Dave told me of his cancer many months ago, so I was a little bit prepared for the bad news.

Paul AKA Seahawk was a real friend, and we met at his farm. He sure had a wonderful home and farm right on the Potomac. She cooked us a nice dinner. His death was a real shock. Both were very sad events.

At one point in life one goes to a lot of weddings. With luck, and old age comes the time of friends dying.

When RDHinOKC died, that hit me hard. His family gave me a bunch of his "Porsche junk" and in it were several special 928 watches. They were valuable, so I sold them all on Rennlist to that 928 community. I donated 100% of the proceeds to a golden retriever rescue. Richard loved Goldens.

Rick V and me was just talking bout it.

How its kinda wild that in the entire known to us, Porsche Internet realm.. I checked Rennlist and some other forums in Europe. I can't really imagine another forum out there, that is as big as Pelican or Rennlist, DieDeutscheKlassieker in UK isn't, a couple of Dutch and German or French forums sure ain't.

Unless perhaps there is something in India or China where there are billions of people.. (I find it unlikely they have that many Porsche nuts).. It looks like I have the market cornered in personal fame in the Porsche Internet.

For the one thread with the most replies and views , does not have the name Porsche, Ferdinand, Ferry, Butzi, Piech in its title..
Its not Jackie Ickx, Bell, Bellof Steve Mcqueen or James Dean's..

And its not even like a close race..its by a HUGE margin.

Not to worry, it won't go to my head, I'm not an influencer, I see no monitisation and I still work for a living.. In a hospital where I try to help Docs and Nurses which i find way more rewarding than just money..

But its kinda wild and not an exageration : My name is on the biggest most replied thread of all Porsche forums known to me.

If there is another forums with a bigger thread, I'de like to know.
So on a slightly selfish level.. I don't really wanna see it die after 17 years.


So update: Wadded up the 987 Cayman end of 2024, saving up and should be getting a new used 987.2 Cayman hopefully this or early next year..

I don't want a silver one like the last, not sure what colors I will find, second hand used market is not always very free choice of color..

But recently discovered this color exists and I'm intrigued.

I like to check in with you ladies every 160k posts. Sorry I am late. How in mothers name did you drag this thread to this number of posts? The total sum of hours and brain would, redirected, no doubt have resulted in the blueprint for a fully functional fusion reactor by now.

Yea, we took the Maid of the Mist boat tour. At one point the spray had little pieces of ice. Almost like tiny hail. And it smelled a bit like fish. Still, pretty neat view.

Still married. 5 children so far. Still pediatrics. Just turned 60 so 7 years to go.
All around very happy and comfortable with my life although I am getting ever so tired of the winter months. The dark and cold is really depressing. Contemplating finding a place perhaps in spain och France on the coastline of the Med for when I retire.
Still got the Carrera 85. Had it for 22 years now. Every year I decide to sell it. Then I take it out for a spin and decide to keep it.

I Turned 50 3 weeks ago.. its going fast.
Don't sell it.. I'm without Porsche, right now, there's nothing good about it.

Drive it more often.
Got a good safe parking lot at work ? drive it to work on calm days..
Then **** off early and take it for a spin.. Its great

France med is very expensive, everything's been bought up, the locals complain they can't find housing (they should thank their elders for selling it from under their crib when they was a baby)
How about Portugal? Apart from the Algarve Its not as absolutely scorching sunny as Spain or South of France, but daylight hours are the same.. and its pretty dry from May to September as well thanks to global warming

I have owned my 85 911 for 31 years. I turned 205,000 miles yesterday at the Niagara Falls park. I will put another 2k on it before I get back to Oklahoma.

I am 71, and I will keep the 911 until I can’t get out of it easily. It has been the best toy I ever have owned.

I still have my Aerial photo company. Right now a company has rented our services for two months and our Cessna 182 is in Tennessee. For local projects we just rent a local 172 and pay by the hour.

My business partner recently flew to Guam on commercial aircraft, then rented a local 172 and flew photos of the damage from the typhoon.

Grampaw finally moved on in last year, having turned 25, one of the oldest cats i have ever known myself.

He was to much of a unit for a single kitten to fill the gap, so I got twins last August

Took Shrapnel 5 months to get out of being upset, realizing he no longer the baby..
