Beats me. As garage-bound as I am nowadays, I even have to think long and hard (no pun intended) about what is “strippers.” Paint stripper? Maybe stripper glitter removes metallic paints. Is that it, Richard?

Happy no longer Monday folks. Today we are off to the other side of the city to a place that has a 3D printer. To look at his web page you would think he is a huge company working with the aerospace industries. When you finally pin him down to his location he works out of a spare room at a automotive body shop. He has been working on a little project for us for three months that we thought would take a few weeks. And all we get to see part of the bottom of the first prototype. It should be interesting.

Sounds like I need to take the money from selling my 928GTS and set up my spare bedroom/office with a 3D printer.

There are a couple a things I think would sell.

Like Autocross or Car Show trophies that are 3D prints of the different car models.

Of course, that's what makes the cars look all shiny!

Who wouldn't want a glittered up model of their car on top of a trophy!

You can also make some really fancy Nipple Lube mixing glitter with tooth paste.

Like always, you need to be careful how much you apoly if you sweat a lot...It might start foaming and people might thing you are weird with sparkly foaming nipples.

Well I am back from the south side. The guy was working on a pod for our thermal camera system. After three month he had a few inches of an enormous pod that was multiple times oversize. We got through to him to think small. The thermal camera is about 7x11 inches and needs to fit in a torpedo shaped pod. It should be pretty simple.

We have the 3D file from the camera manufacturer. We just need a pod designed around it. We have the mount to the aircraft figured out.

Sounds like one of the Draftsman that used to work for me. If he ran into a problem that was outside of the answers he knew. He just didn't work on the project and didn't bother to ask anyone either. It was just dead until you rattled his cage.

The next door neighbor hires his lawn service. It is 96 degrees and humid so heat index is 106. A team of workers show up and they are all dressed in long trousers, sweatshirts with a hoodie pulled up, wearing gloves. Fully covered from the top of their head to their toes, wearing dark sunglasses. They must be 100% soaked in sweat. I got hot just watching them for a few seconds. I guess they are protected from the sunshine but they have to be tough to survive in all those clothes. And it was not just one or two it was the entire team of 6 guys. The yard got done in 10 minutes.

I wonder if its like Sid and AZ. I teased him about freezing up here during his visit. They might be from an even warmer climate and feel just about right.

When I played softball in El Centro I showed up in ball pants and t-shirt and one of the other guys showed up in 3 layers of sweats and I was the one that was sweating.

Happy 4th guys.

Once again I was rousted out of bed early to go do forced labor in the yard. More sprinkler work. Some of the heads were just not quite right. I had to dig up a couple of them and replace them. One was very close to a tree that was just 8 feet tall back then. It has grown a lot and the roots are intertwined with the sprinkler pipes. The sprinkler system is officially 19 years old now. Installed by a very modest and humble genius, that had no absolutely no 5ucking clue how to do the job. With 99 spray heads originally, they have done well.

Mrs Carrera has changed the yard layout several times and the heads have been moved and rearranged, and one section was disconnected from the well and converted to city water and drip irrigation. With the genius designer making it possible to reconfigure some of the system. Some sections are still 100% original.

Over the 19 years we have changed two large areas from grass to garden, and added a Koi pond in the back yard, and planted three new trees.

I need an adrenaline hobby.

in my 30's I got high blood pressure from work/home/family stress. Doc put me on meds.

Discovered Radio Controlled Airplanes. Built and learned to fly a trainer. Found the concentration to fly an R/C plane was intense enough to put me in "the zone." The Zone is where your concentration is very focused, you get tunnel vision, you only think about your goals, the physical actions required (like operating the radio to control the plane) are of done without actively thinking about tem, adnd most importantly gives you an adrenaline rush.

After stared flying R/C my Doc had to take me off the blood pressure meds. Being in "the zone" flying R/C cleared my stress. The meds were causing low blood pressure.

After moving to this house with a two car garage decided I could get a Porsche. Had a 914, but had no garage. Sold it because it was starting to show it lived outside. Decided 928 would be great for trips and was a hatch back so could fit my planes. Put my mini-van up for sale and started looking.

Sold my mini-van before I found a nice 928 so decided I could get a 944. There were a lot more for sale, and figured it would sell easily when I found a 928. Ended up with an 88 944 TurboS. It was a rush when the turbo kicked in so was sold on the car the first time I accelerated thru 2nd gear!

In the glovebox there was a special edition of Road and Track featuring the 88 944 Turbo S and talked about it being an excellent Autocross car. So I went to my first PCA autocross. Wasn;t very fast but discovered "The Zone" was even more intense being in the vehicle.

For the best visual of driving "in the zone" watch the movie Driven with Sylvester Stallone. In the movie he whistles when he is driving in the zone.

Anyway sold off all my R/C stuff and started spending all my spare time an money going faster at the monthly PCA autocross. Tried track events, other Autocross groups, but they just didn't provide the zone time that PCA autocrosses did.

Went thru several cars, the 88 944TS, 90 928GT, 01 BoxsterS, 90 944T, and 94 982GTS.

Then IT happened. Stepped on that freaking nail and got the MRSA infection. Now I can no longer heel and toe, and am back on blood pressure medication.

Checked into going back to R/C but with the new digital radios there aren't really flying clubs anymore it's more just park fliers.

So, looking for a new hobby that requires enough concentration to get in the zone and get that stress clearing adrenaline rush.

Suggestions?
