Finally found the issue with the Porsche. Fuel pressure regulator is farked and pushing fuel through a vaccuum line into the intake.

Oh and it was pretty much decided to tell the crazy client to get ****ed today. No commission check is worth my sanity and dignity.

LOL! We have the same campaign here since monday.
120,000 cups are used every year here, only for water. For coffee we have normal cups and industrial dishwashers (takes 10 minutes) in every "employee-kitchen".

Friend says styrofoam cup usage reduction is against his religion. He says he believes our purpose on this planet is to create styrofoam and bury it in land fills.

I refill the same half dozen used Pasani (bottled water) bottles every day and carry them to work in my backpack. My well water is relatively free and the bottles seem to last forever (done this for the last four years). I use the same water to make coffee if desired. I have an old mug at work that I use. Saves me money (over buying water and coffee) and the time of going somewhere to buy them. The water in my building's water fountains is not fit for human consumption. If you can't actually see through the brown and/or if it has an odor...IMHO, calling it drinking water is a misrepresentation.

Happy Birthday! 56 was not so bad for me...maybe I was just used to that stage of life by then...and reasonably pleased, or at least accepting of my lot in life. About the same aches and pains as the mid to late 40s. Maybe a few less since I was exercising a bit more and in reasonably good shape. It seems that activity is the key to happiness and health (although money and companionship really help).

You have "employee kitchens"? What does that consist of (other than cups and dishwashers)?

The coffee and tea are free, the water is filtered including the lines to the fountains, faucets, and ice makers.

Pepper just came in to me at my computer after barking once at the door and said "i want out." It was the first time. She has been barking at the door and sometimes saying "out" or "I want out." Sometimes she comes in and looks at me then goes back to the door and barks. This is the first time she has barked at the door, and when she got no response came to me and said "I want out."

My last gig was like that. Gourmet coffee dispenser...free. Choice of teas...free. Bottled water...free. I had a great office with a wall of windows facing a wooded office park. The internet crash was unfortunate, oh well. The current gig isn't very generous. I make my own coffee (Mr Coffee JR) and use my own cup. No view. Life's a bitc...uh, beach.

Here's what my coffee cup looks like

My current job keeps making it worse and worse to actually be at work because their goal is to save money on facilities by getting everyone to voluntarily work from home most of the time. I guess I should welcome that as I have a long commute...but it is difficult to get some things done and it is expensive to personally provide the equipment like phone, high speed internet, computer equipment, etc. Just the faster (still very slow) internet I need to do it on snow days costs about $100 a month more than the basic version I had (no choices since the only Internet provider where I live us via a dush on the roof). I would rather go to the office (if I had one instead of a stupid cubicle) and keep that separate from home (because once you start working from home, you are always at work/available to your employer).

I LIKE working from home, and write my office space, equipment, internet, etc. off my taxes. My ISP is Cox Business. Company does provide my laptop, iPhone, and an IP phone that is an extension on the office phone system (it is forwarded to my iPhone, I never use it).

Really like not having to do the commute thing...saving gas, commute time, and miles on a vehicle,
AND there's flexibility to run errands during regular hours if needed.

Was always available long BEFORE started working from home. Getting up and sitting at my computer is much better than having to get dressed and drive to the office when something goes whacky in the middle of the night.

I suspect that the IRS would have trouble with me writing anything off. I don't know how I could reasonably divide it from home use of phone and Internet.

As far as being available...I am not talking about for an emergency...but rather... to be tasked with normal work for 15-20 hours per day and on weekends, but only being paid for 40 hours per week. I have always worked long hours, but at least in the office, people realized that was the case.

I don't have, or want home computer accesability to work. I occasionally work an hour or two over, but I leave it at the office, and don't want any office issued phone or laptop for them to moniter.

The home office thing is done by the square feets of your home and square footage your offices takes up, then you include all the bills for the home including internet, phone etc.

Thought the taking advantage and too many hours thing would be a problem, but once I settled into a daily grind it worked itself out to not be that big of a deal. Sure occasionally there is a crunch that requires some extra hours, but that is rare and being able to take a short break away from the crunch helps me keep focused and more productive when it does happen.

My work place provides a water cooler and coffee. I use my own coffee cup and only the chief pilot drinks coffee besides me. My personal iPhone is tied to my work email as well as my personal email. I have 3 office email accounts and 4 personal email accounts all run through my iPhone and Outlook on the computers. I will occasionally VNC into work and do some very simple tasks like check the scanner or email a file on the computer.

I will replay to a customer email on weekends or in the evenings or whenever it is convenient for me.

I have brought home customer projects to run on my personal computer because it is faster than the office computers.

Oh great, the .5 amp fan motor on my outside a/c condenser is drawing 1.6 amps. When it gets over 95 degrees outside it over heats and shuts off making the compressor do the same thing. It couldn't make it just a couple more weeks and then fail next spring...no.

I have a laptop provided to me for when I am mobile or at home. They provide electricity at work. My co-worker that shares the hall with me buys the coffee as long as I make it and since I am the first one here it works out best. I do have a VPN connection because it is quicker than driving 25 minutes in to reset something and 25 minutes back. I do have the Active Directory set up so the first time they lock themselves out it resets after 5 minutes. Then when they call to tell me they locked themselves out I can tell them give me 5 minutes and try again with the correct password.

Happy belated birthday Richard.

I don't work so....

Ordered the mechanical parts needed for my free John Deere. Total is about $76.00.

I still would like to get a new hood piece, though. Someone crashed it into something and broke the plastic part that mount the hood hinges. I don't NEED it but it would be better being able to use the hood. There is a foam part that seals the hood to the engine, almost like the old Ram-Air devices on muscle cars.
