At least I don't have to baby sit it.
Liquid nitrogen cooling! Only because it is cool and I don't know anyone personally that uses it and you sound like a good candidate.

I suspect often it is some lazy stocker that does not want to mess with ordering more, and putting them away when they come in. How hard is it to have the system see the sizes that sell out, and order extra of those?

It sure makes me miss the well run mom and pop hardware stores. They knew what they needed and had it in stock and knew right where they were on the shelf, and had no computers. Just people that cared. That is the real issue.
We have a local mom and pop store that is pretty well stocked and they have a few stores locally so if one doesn't have it another will.

I laugh that where else can you go in and ask for advice on fasteners and wine and it is the same person. Yup, the sell fresh cheese curds, wine, deli stuff, horse manure, plants, trees, fasteners, electric fences, regular groceries and decorative fountains among many other things.

There was a great store in Waipahu, HI called some Arakawas or some spelling close to that. The sold everything. Long before Wal Mart or Target. We bought fine china for my mom. Tons of fireworks, all tools, lawn mower stuff, bicycle stuff, model airplane stuff, clothes, and shoes. It was great to wander around in there. It was a large store with little aisles and many fond memories. I can't imagine they are still around. Big box stores killed them I am sure. I was way to young to remember if they sold booze or any alcohol, but they sold sushi and fresh seafood.

I found this:

https://www.khon2.com/news/local-news/new-life-for-old-arakawas-building-in-waipahu_2018030912380512/1025937102

As expected they are closed long ago.

Liquid nitrogen would get the CPU down to superconducting temps!

My next system I build will likely have liquid cooling. 8th gen CPU and 16 cores and 64 to 128 gig ram. My main system here is no slouch computer, but I need lots more power if we get a few of the projects we hope to get. If I can cut the processing time in half or maybe one third it will be well worth it. This project has tied up my main system for over 24 hours, and it likely will not be done until in the morning. To do it in a few hours would be nice. The good news is I have three computers for me to use here.

It's Friday! Cerebralate!

Jim, somehow that link has got me going thru and watching all the Beverly Hillbillies episodes when nothing else is on. Not sure if it is any better than some of the weird Japanese Anime Series I've been watching though. At least it's in English.

You could go on a spree, but at this point it won't get much attention unless it is a church or school and you can take yourself out before being stopped or caught.

David, that sounds like fun.

I got up outta bed at 6:00 AM and washed the El Camino after the feeding myself and the dogs. I finished up everything and sat down in the office chair at 7:59, so the jerk boss can' yell and scream about me being late to work after washing his car.

It is hard to believe that in one week we will be packing the car to go to Parade. We are taking the Macan this year. Its only 360 miles or so so a simple trip. It will be weird to not have the 911 at Parade.

Someone made your work easier? in the middle of the night? No way. Make sure you didn't make any deals with anyone with a funny name like Rumpelstiltskin.

heck no. I walked out last night at quitting time and said not my problem. I had pointed out that this would happen during a conference call last Friday.

Funny how you can point out what will happen and no one listens and then the organic fertilizer hits the air movement device and then they wonder why they were not warned it would happen. I swear some peoples synapses take weeks to process what they hear.

Oh hey, happy Friday/Saturday or whatever the day identifies as.

That is specifically why the VP of IT retired. He was sick of having to deal with the Executives on that kind of thing.
Same reason the IT Director stepped down to head of Programming.

In case anyone wonders, flying in a 172 on a 100 degree heat index day is hot. Then to add to the sweat, go stand in a hangar so the breeze is totally blocked. Who needs a sauna?

Guess when they say...but it's a dry heat. They mean it's not a sauna.

Good weekend.

Had a prospective buyer call last night. We talked for an hour, he is still interested but has not made an offere yet. Think he is in the same mind set as when I bought it 11 years ago. I tried for two weeks to talk myself out of it.
