Looking good Jim. You need to hit up Dave for a shift knob!

Figured you were going to make the dash trim, steeringwheel, and shift knob, maybe ebrake all match.

You mean in Win10 you can't set hot corners for the screen saver?
How am I supposed to lock down the computer with the screen saver when I get up and walk away, go thru 4 menus to turn on the screen saver?

The shift knob and steering wheel rim will both be wood. No ability to add wood to the 280Z dash. Hand brake might be an option, but a one-off custom job.

Dave can hook you up with all of that. He’s done some incredible stuff for Singer lately.

He just finished this shift knob for my car. I can’t wait!

If I could get my OEM shift knob off without destroying it I would order one of Dave's knobs. I have tried pretty hard to remove the old knob, and it will not budge. I hate to destroy things that are supposed to be removable.

I have been told it takes a large wrench and a hammer. Possible better to just replace the whole shift level and save the old one.

Yep, that is what I used. I was whacking on it pretty hard with a 2 pound sledge.

I was worried about damaging the connections in the shift mechanism or the couplings. Taking out the shift lever is not really easily possible on my car. I have the leather shift boot that really needs to come off and the knob prevents that.

the other option is to buy the new shift knob and build the car around it.

Yea, I can just take my air hammer to the knob, and it will come off, in pieces. I am just not willing to do that as yet. The air hammer is like a mini jack hammer. It will put a hurt on it.

Dave does beautiful work, but I’m not sure I’d go with the layered wood look.
