My wife has had a few cars in our 27 years of marriage.
Mercedes 190 Mercedes 280 Mercedes 300e Infinity G-35x Porsche Macan. Most were sold with very low miles, so she does not just run through cars. 6 years average per car for her.

High school college I had a 1979 Dodge Magnum, with T tops of course.
First paying job I bought a brand new 1988 Shadow ES Turbo. More torque and less weight than a first gen S2000. 1978 Ramcharger 1969 Dodge Coronet 1985 Dodge Daytona for my winter beater because a big block muscle car is not a good snow car. Sold the Coronet for the Cobra then in 1994 because the Coronet wasn't quick enough. Took that to CA. Bought a 5th Avenue in CA. Married into a 1998 Cavalier. Had the best cloth seats ever and cold A/C. We put 100,000 miles on that car. Had kids and traded the 5th Avenue for an Intrepid. Had that a year and traded it for the Durango. Bought the 911. Sold the Cavalier when we moved back to WI. Shipped the 911. Towed the Cobra. Had just the Durango and Cobra for a while, then bought a 2001 Cavalier. Worst cloth seats ever. Got rear ended by a guy in an Explorer that was asleep at the wheel. Literally. Bought a 2004 V6 Stratus Sedan. Did not drive like the Stratos sports car. Was a comfy sporty enough car though. Traded that at 167,000 miles for Steve, our bright Blue 2014 Avenger. Was given the turd, I mean, Nissan Rogue. Sold the 911. replacement parts for the fuel injection cost more than what we paid for it. Sold it at a good time. Next car is going to be a minivan. Or another Durango if we sell our current one.

I forgot, I had a Toyo SR5 4x4 pickup that I traded in to buy my wife the Volvo wagon. I think that was a dumb move from an automotive point of view, but maritally, it was wise.

If I count my wife's Infinity (Nissan or Datsun) it is the only non German import I have owned. Of course the El Camino is the only American car (made in Mexico) that I have owned.
I know Jeremy Clarkson says to be a true car guy one must own a Alfa at least once. Not gonna do it. Nope, no Italian cars for me. Nothing with Lucas electrics either.

Wow, Hard to believe, it has been 7 years ago today that I had my hip replaced.
No doubt one of the dumbest things I did was to wait as long as I did, and the second smartest thing I ever did was get it replaced. The smartest thing I ever did was to marry my wife, in case anyone is wondering.

Glen, where does getting the big garage and adding a lift rank? That’s gotta be right up there.

So buying this house is one of those great thing I did as well. When we moved in we both agreed this was the house we would NOT move out of willingly. Either in a body bag, or by wheelchair. Or if someone offers us 4 times market price.

I went looking to replace it with another one years ago. The wife said no and I ended up with a 911.

I never owned any snowmobiles, always rode dads. He had a few, but the ones I remember are his Scorpion Whip. He had an old Ski Doo 650cc that I restored the hood on. I used to take that out to the local vacant lot and spend hours sideways on it. His Scorpion Sting was a lot of fun until I totaled it. I put my left knee and head through the hood while bending the left handle bar with my left hip. It was a very sudden stop. Sorry dad.

The only bikes I had were bicycles. In Hawaii we put a 3.5 HP lawn mower engine on a bicycle. It had no clutch, so start it and go. If you had to stop fast, flip the little grounding tab over on the spark plug to kill the engine and hit the front brakes, as there were no rear brakes. With the brakes so bad my brother would tie a rope to my bike, and I rode along and if he yelled brakes, I slowed us down.
We rode around in the dirt roads of the pineapple fields behind the neighborhood for over 1,000 miles of fun. He would go up some hills pulling me and on one really steep hill the drive mechanism in the rear hub just broke in half. We went walking in the the local bike shop and took the old one, he had a replacement that was perfect. A few weeks later we went in again with that hub broken. The old Japanese owner of the shop was incredulous. I so much remember him saying "How you little Haole boys break that!. I never seen one broken before!!" Of course we neglected to tell him it was a 3.5 HP engine that broke it. The day I turned 16 I got my driver's license, and have not been on two wheels since.

I think I was the same way. When I turned 16 I left the self-powered two wheels behind.
