Starter quit working on my 20 yo grill after about 10 years. Got one of those grill lighter gas lighters. After a few weeks it just started working again. It was still working when I sold it.

Really like the Charbroil Smoker Roaster Grill i replaced it with!

I have yet to use the lighter on our grill as I have not yet hooked a tank to the gas side in the three years we have had it. The chimney starter gets used all the time though.

I was actually doing my job for a little while today. and downloaded the company credit card bill. We have a contractor flying another project in another state, so I see those normal charges coming in. The contractor just gets a flat day rate and we pay all expenses. Dang our 182 can eat some gas! Anyway I was glad when I was sitting down when I saw his hotel bill and he just got there on the 1st. It was just a few bucks shy of two grand. Either he had a wild drunken bar party, or hookers and blow. He is as likely to do that as I am, so I knew that was not really the case. And in podunk nowherevile there are no $2,000 per night hotels.

Turns out he booked the entire three weeks all at once, and that saves 10 bucks per day so it was a good choice.

My business partner is down in Florida and he is spending money on the same credit card.

Between the aircraft fuel purchases and the meals and hotel bill, our credit card has a scary balance and I am real glad I have a high limit on it.

Travel expenses add up real quick! I just booked round trip tickets to Barcona for around $1500, add in hotels, cabs, etc and that one week will cost $3k.

Morning all. Decided to drive the 911 to work. Got a few more days before fall rains kick in.

I got out into the garage before the heat cranked up. I replaced the LED tail light strip that fits just under the tail gate on my El Camino. The old one had lost one hunk of the LEDs at the far right end. The LED strip just plugs into the trailer lights connection. Running lights, turn signals and backup lights and of course brake lights. The brake lights are why I wanted it in the first place.

The advertisement for the new one says "10 minute install" yea right. I knew that was going to be longer for me, as almost nothing goes right on the first try. So I pull the old one off, and clean up the area where it was stuck on and get it out of the way. I figure, hey let's test if this one works. Plug it in, and try the lights, and a big nothing. Grumble grumble. So out comes the test light and multimeter. OK, I guess while getting rid of the old one the ground wire decided it was not going to ground. I was hoping it was going to be a quick install, but that was changed.

So put in up on the lift to get me off my back. Start checking, and fix the ground wire. It was working before, and it is grounded again. Then the running light connection quits. I had the trailer hitch installed a few weeks after I bought the Elky, so 27 years ago. I added the wiring myself 27 years ago. So after 27 years and 300K miles some connections needed some help. So rewire all the connections. Hook up the strip, and presto chango, and tada, the LEDs work. The backup lights are a separate connection outside of the normal trailer lights.

In the end, with the AC cranking, the car on and off the lift, and putting up the tools it was just a two hour install. Only 110 minutes longer that the ad says.

Yea, all of these cost will be paid by the client. Everytime the pilot fills up the airplane they put a "hold" of 600 bucks per instance. They are a tiny FBO, and must run the credit cards every three days. Once they clear, the actual amount of $200 to $285 is charged. The big thing is the three 600 holds are using up credit limit. $1,800 is on hold until the 700 to 800 is really charged. And my business partner is spending money just like the contract pilot in another state.

A tiny business like ours does not have any credit of it's own, it is all my credit and my partner's. The weird thing is the credit bureaus see my card with charges that are twice or more than I paid for my brand new 1974 914 2.0 and they lower my rating number. I really can't give a crap. We pay the statement balance on the due date automatically, always. We have never paid a penny in interest or fees. They see the payment and my rating goes back up.

The funny thing is by law the CC company has to put the information that if we paid the minimum payment it would take over 30 years to pay it off.

Hey, I did get a notification that SunPass is going to issue a refund on my credit card soon. It was done in under 60 days, and I did not have to write any nasty letters or anything.

The Florida toll road system is not too bad. If they would just figure out how to automatically replenish the account as needed like Oklahoma does it would be a lot easier. At one point I was down to $1.75 or so in the account. I had to log into my app on my phone with slow reception to add 10 bucks once. A real pain in the butt.

This seems to be National Service Dog Month.

Have been working with Pepper. She is doing a great job being my night time diabetic alert dog, but is not well behaved enough to go out in public as a service dog. Just gets too excited around new people and dogs. "Stay" only lasts about 3 seconds when first meets new people or any time women talk to her.

We have three "errands" to get done today. For my retired wife, this is stressful. Normally just one errand per day is the limit. We have to go get the tags renewed on all three vehicles. The El Camino tag is $27.50 the 911 personalized tag is $20 and my wife's Macan's personalized tag will be $20. Then we have to pick up a prescription refill, and then go to Sam's for a fruit run. I wish a local store had the selection of fruit like Sam's and the same prices.

It is a good thing I know the boss real well and he will let me have time off from my busy work schedule to go run personal errands during the work day.

Just the personalized tags are 20 bucks to renew. We still have to get the regular tags for the cars as well. The 911 is the same cost as the Elky, $27.50. And that just was raised, it was $22.50 but the "fees" were upped. They can't raise taxes without a vote of the people to approve it, so we get lots of new small fees.

The Macan tag is more bucks because it is a newer vehicle, but this time she is just getting the personalized tag renewed. All three vehicles have a personalized tag. For 20 bucks per year, why not.

After a certain number of years, the tag prices drop to the minimum charge for all vehicles. With 1980s cars, they hit the bottom tag fee long long ago.

Due to the complications have arranged for my prescriptions to be delivered and a hot meal m-f at noon. The meals aren't bad and are only $3 each. Have been getting an extra meal once a week bonus.
Also get groceries delivered for $8. Not to bad since usually buy $80-$100 a trip and it takes an hour round trip. Also have a cleaning lady for a couple of hours a week for $15 an hour.

Still can only walk and/or stand for 5 minutes then get dizzy and risk falling.

Sounds like ours then I think the 911 is the lowest and the wife crosstour Honda is the most expensive at over $200 I think.

Tags on the Cobra were $200. One time fee no expiration. All the other cars are a flat fee. $65 for a car $85 for a truck. I think.

Our Honda CRV and Chevy Volt are each around $300, my 280Z is $185. Ouch.

Well all three of the stickers are on the corresponding tags. It made me have to think!

The 911 tag is the "real" tag that I am required by OK law to carry in the car. So it stays under the trunk mat on top of the smugglers box. I only look look at it once every 12 months. The El Camino got a new sticker for the personalized tag and so did the Macan, and I had to be sure the right sticker was on the right tag.

Since tags were first issued back after statehood, the tag stayed with the vehicle. This year, the tag now stays with the owner. That way the new owner of the vehicle has to go get a tag and not just drive on the old tag. They had a lot of people that would buy a cheap car, and never tag or register it. If it got a parking ticket, or drove through the turnpike the former owner would get the tickets. So this will reduce that problem.

New we have to, for the first time ever carry a copy of the registration in the car along with the insurance verification. That is silly, because as soon as the cop runs the tag, it tells him if it is insured, if the tag is current or not, and who it is registered to. But we need the analog backup in the car.
