Back from Motor in the Morning at the Porsche dealership. Free coffee and donuts is always a good thing!

Now I am gonna put the 911 up on the lift, and drain the engine and transmission oil. I have a slight leak from the little cover plate on the transmission for the shift finger. Easy to remove 4 bolts, and replace the gasket. It is just a seep but oil leaks never heal up, so I want to stop it before it starts making a mess. And it was a 5 buck gasket, with 4 easy to remove bolts. A 5 minute fix is the bonus.

Nuthin better than a bath of Kendall motor oil 20-50 followed by a spray of Kendall transmission oil.

Every time I think, I have done this enough times to avoid the giant mess. Every-time I underestimate how messy I am. Maybe next time. The engine oil was 13 month old and had 6,000 miles of driving. Normally I do an oil change every 12 months. I knew the road trip to Florida was not a big deal, so I waited until I got home. My transmission had the differential fixed a year ago, and I want to get any pieces of metal that are always left behind after a rebuild, so I have done a second oil change after the rebuild. The magnets all look good and just normal tiny amount of stuff.

I will not do an oil change again until I return from Palm Springs, CA next year. I will likely not do a transmission oil change for 15,000 miles.

A shower od soap and water sure is nice after a soaking of the wonderful smell of transmission oil.

We are actually getting light showers of rain. It is just 74 degrees but 89% humidity, and sprinkles. It will be some kinda hot and humid later.

Wake up guys!

It is back to Monday, except for Jim. Just another Saturday.

I have to borrow my wife's Macan to deliver some large prints to a customer today. I can get a 40x60 in the back of the Elky easy enough, but it takes a lot of packing and careful preperation to get it to stay in the back of an open bed. Lots easier to slide it in the back of the Macan. It might cost my cost my company a tank of gas for the Macan, but that is cheaper than a rental.

Mourning.

IRS lets you charge up to $.58 per mile to your company to use a personal car for company business.

In the 80's and early 90's it was $.22 per mile.

Yea, we keep log books to track all the mileage for our car use. But the IRS is friendly and easy going compared to the rental terms for using a Macan.

So that is the rather pricey college as I remember. Good luck.

My wife rode with me to deliver the prints. Thy man that we met with is 6 foot 7. He met us out at the car, and asked if he could "test sit" in the Macan to see if he would fit. He did with no real problem. My wife suggested he can look at a Cayanne, or a Panamara. THe local dealer has sold several Panameras to the Thunder players. If a pro basket ball player can fit, he will too. Our client was built more like a football player, not the average basketball player. Not fat, but just a big ol man.

Is yours set to notify if "quality" posts have been made, or just any post?

Sorry, that was just a joke about the quality. There are some posts, not on this thread of course, that are like cold thirty minute old fries.

Some are like day old fries that have been heated up in a microwave.

Leftovers can be great. We have some "stuff" in the fridge now, that is a recipe my wife got from a friend. We use the pressure cooker to cook some special rice with the mushrooms and chicken tenderloins. It is weird to cook chicken in 23 minutes and not fry it. It is pretty tasty, and heats up in the microwave well.
