It is silly how often they do drug tests. And testing a person off on medical leave is really stupid.

If the base model has all the features you want, like the headlights, go for the base. How often do you have to punch it? And the 1 MPG difference is ONLY if you stay out of the turbo. If it spools up, you mileage may vary, and mostly drop.

Looking at a red and a white base model. Neither have the headlights, have to go turbo for that. $4k is too much for headlights.

Here is the the white one...

Here is the red one...

They are both $6K

Yea, you know how to have fun.

My recent birthday means I had to go off of the insurance plan I was on, and I was forced to go on Medicare. With private insurance my prescription cost was the co-pay of nothing. Now I "get" to pay a tidy sum for the same stuff.

I am sure happy the government decided to fix medical care.

The scariest phrase ever is "we are from the government, and we are here to help you".

Yep, my insurance cost me more money up front, and I get less benifit in return. Maybe next they can fix the IRS tax laws the same way. Oh wait, they do that constantly.

Only the US Government could take a 12 month tax year, and cut it up into quarter year hunks of 3 months, 2 months, then 4 month than 3 months. WTF, why not 4 quarters that are 3 months each like any logical person would do it?

Talked to car insurance ageent this morning. Get two wrecks a year before it affects my rates.

Agent had a wreck in her suv about the same time and damage as mine. Today was her first day back to work.

Don't be wreckin no more!

Should be sunny and above freezing this weekend! Woo Hoo. Cobra is all apart but I think I will push it into the other garage for now so the wife and I can both park in the heated garage.

Save the heated garage for the Cobra. The regular cars have heaters. Tell this to your wife. What could possibly go wrong?

never driven a German car 'cept for 914s and 911s.
Almost drove an Audi once:

About 30 years ago my girlfriend's friend's husband wanted to borrow my truck. Previous experience taught me not to loan stuff but she pressured me and I caved.
He said he'd leave his Audi for me to drive while he was using my truck for the day.

He brought the truck back with no damage 'cept for a nearly empty tank.
the next day he called and asked how I screwed up his car. The battery was dead, it was pulling to one side, and it was making a clunking noise.

I told him I never touched his car, I didn't even touch the keys he left on the counter. His car did not move, no one touched it.
Then the doof started asking for money to fix it. Big money. I started getting a little less patient and told him I did not get within 20 feet of his POS car. So he threatened to sue me until I changed him mind fer him.
Later we found out he was a scammer and got in trouble fer it.

So if someone asks me to borrow something, I tend say no thanks. Sometimes people suck more than anybody.

I don't think I have had more than one or two requests to borrow my car in my lifetime. For 17 years the only car I had was my 914, and no one ever asked to borrow it. When I got the El Camino back in 1991 I only had one request to borrow it to haul a load of dirt. I told them hell no, it is not rated for that much weight, and they were not that good of a friend to borrow my car.

I guess I am just a jerk, and I have never own an appliance car that I don't care a lot about.

Morning all. The only person I ever let borrow a car was my dad. I knew he would treat it right and return it in one piece.

I do let my wife drive the Elky!

On occasion if she needs lawn and garden bulk items but on most of those occasions she makes me go along as chauffeur, and yard boy hauler & mover.

Of course I do borrow her Macan when I have large mounted prints to haul. A 40x60 fits in the back like the car was designed for it. I had to use it this Monday to deliver a project to a client. And each time I go to pick them up from our print shop.

I guess since my name is on the title it is not really borrowing "her" car. I bought my El Camino back before we were married and I have not bothered to go to get the title changed just to add her name. My will has her as the beneficiary, so it will not be a big problem if I am not around.

I have not been in an accident since 1978 when a lady ran a stop sign and hit my 914 in the door. My wife had a fender bender back in 1989. No tickets for either of us since the late 1970s.

My Dad told me to never let anyone drive my cars. let alone borrow one.

Making arrangements on a 2006 CayenneS Titanium Edition. It has white gauge faces, good for my retinopathy, and a pioneer carplay stereo.

And it's half as much as the last Turbo was.

During Porsche Palooza, the trips we made had lunch stops. The first day I saw a couple at a table for four and asked if we could join them at the table. Of course they were fine with us sharing a table.

I can take to anyone anywhere, about anything. It did not take long to discover they had dachshunds, and other things in common. I asked him what he did for a living and he said he was the IT director for a company that specializes in doing the IT work for many different smaller companies. So we chatted about the phishing emails and how legitimate some scans can look.

He too is the one that sends out a fake email with an attachment to catch the employees clicking on a link. Then he send them back to training. He made up one so good he caught himself. He admitted he was really embarrassed, and mad at himself.

His wife works at a university and she fell into a trap of fake email that really looked legit like it was from the vice president of the department she is in.

I got one today that was supposed to be from Experian to set up my credit monitoring. Like I would click that link and fill in my SSN, address, and answer some challenge questions. It went right to trash.
