"Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! It's double coop-on day down to the Piggly Wiggly."

Heard on the radio the first day I drove my 914. Was crossing Arkansas on I-40.

Wow, Piggly Wiggly. The owner of all the Piggly Wigglys in Alabama was a wealth man. He would host a luncheon each year for his managers, and family members. He would hire the company I worked at to photograph the event every year. One year his guest speaker was Wernher von Braun. As a science fiction and science geek, I was enthralled. He of course had films and discussed the moon landings. I had to snap out of a trance several time and remember to go take photos. Like a moron, I did not get his autograph, as I was supposed to be the photographer in the background. I did shake his hand.

It was likely about 1975 or so.

Piggly Wiggly. That’s a blast from the past.

Yesterday was our planned move to the opposite side of the island. No frogs keeping us up all night. . We do have a lot of birds singing this morning, but they had the decency to wait until 7AM.

Jim, your camera will turn sideways, and help my neck not get sore looking at that image.

That looks just like the view out my front porch!!

This is the view out my front porch!

Evening all, cold enough over there for y'all?
Its a tad warm over here in Oz!!! Bushfires everywhere, bloody hell one came within 1klm of Miss Daisy out there in the workshop, getting a bit nervous I must say. Have brought everything home from the workshop except for the car body, she is a bit hard to move. Evacuation plan is for her to be picked up with the forklift and dropped in the dam, if the fires head for the workshop!!! She will dry out, as there is nothing in there except panels, and the gauges, I left them in there, just couldn't be bothered taking them out no need.

How is everyone?

We have had so many fires in the last few months, our fire season started a month into Spring, and we have in the east coast of the continent already over 2.5 Million Hectares of land burned by fires, and we are only just into summer. It is going to be a long one.

Yea, the media always make it look like an apocalypse so I have to take the news with a large dose of salt. No doubt it is bad. We just missed a big winter storm. It all stayed in North Oklahoma, and Kansas and areas north. Rick's favorite word, snow is everywhere up there. We had a forecast of possible light flurries, but nothing so far and that is enough.

I never went outside of the house yesterday. I am almost fished with a huge job and I made a 32.4 GB (34,886,586,530 bytes) Tif file as the deliverable image. It will not fit on a 32 GB thumb drive. We have to put it on a 64 GB drive.

My mean old greedy low life mean boss made me work on it most all of last weekend, all last week, and this weekend as well. I am gonna drink a lot more of his beer!

I have a couple of projects to do on my cars out in the garage, and I can't get out there to play!

You’ll see the light, eventually.

Hi Azzy. I’m so sorry to hear/see the news about the excessive heat and wildfires throughout your part of the country. Even when it’s bad here in California, it probably can’t hold a candle (really bad pun) to what you’re going through there. Best wishes for you guys!

Jim, last week I got out of the shower and dried off, and stood in the closet trying to remember what day of the week it was. Since we go out to eat on Fridays I usually wear a polo shirt to "dress up" instead of the usual t-shirt. I was about convinced it was still Thursday, and I finally remembered yesterday had been a Sunday and we back to Monday. I was only off by 4 days at first. All my days are about the same. I work on the computer if there is anything to do, if not I play on Pelican. I usually can do some QuickBooks work on the company account. Here recently I have been working on the big mondo project a lot, but I still take a break and visit Pelican. Especially when he computer predicts it will be another hour before the next file is done.

We go places like the grocery store, or to do various errands whenever it is a good time. Days are pretty much the same to me. Except when the clients send a big check, then it is happy dance time!

I had to run to the post office to mail a large package. A batch of rolled up prints going to a client. The box was 44x8x8 so just a bit too big for my mail box. We have an account with Stamp.com and I can print my own postage right on a label, slap it on, and just drop it off at the PO and not have to wait in line at all.

As I was leaving I saw a snowflake. Close enough to a blizzard for me. I am done, that is enough snow for this year for me. I told the bosses wife I would take care of shoveling the sidewalks and driveway for this storm.
