And 4:60 rear end! It should be a fun toy once the 5 speed is in and the new rear end. One big issue may be oil leaks once you get it through a few full heat cycles. One of the guys that used to come to our autocross has an 240Z, that is a POS rusty gutted track whore. Just 4 big tires, and a LOUD exhaust. He has fun, and that is the important thing. He was the one guy that had a car older than mine out there. Well, we do have one member that brings out his 64 912 on once every few years.

It was still better than that guy with exhaust running through the cabin.

Oh yea, that the the biggest POS car I ever saw and we should have never let him on track. He broke down more than he he made a full lap.

Oh yeah and the carb stuck up out of hood with no air filter too.
We stopped him because you could smell exhaust in the cabin though.

Sounds like a self correcting error to me!

The sad part is he also had a 944turbo that was actually pretty fast, Didn't look too good, but was capable if a quick lap.

Getting older sucks, but it sure beats the alternative. Eat more fruit, take fiber, and less red meat. And listen to your doc most of all.

Yeah, doc in A&E was great. He reckoned go low fiber while its irritated, then back to high fiber when its better.

On to happier thoughts. My granddaughter is dancing at Disney World next year and we are thinking of being spectators. Last night I was doing a little research into traveling Route 66 on a motorcycle as an additional activity

Did the diverticulitus thing when younger. When 40. Removed 14 inches of colon to keep it from returning, Told me to do fibre suppliment the rest of my life, and recommended for anyone over 40, Was told to drink the fibre stuff because mixing the powder with water made sure you got enough liquids. It's also like swigging down s glass of orangy juice.
Was having diverticulitus attack during first colonoscopoy. The night before prep procedure actually felt good. The next attack after that one is when they operated. Had been having diverticulitus attacks for two years and they thought I was too young..

Or you can buy a car at one end of USA and sell it when after crossing the States. Zigging between alll the sights without as much concern about weather unless you want to go to the biker thing in the badlands..Personally am not a bike trip kind of guy. Disney World could be the start or the destination.

Jeff, you live in a country about as big as the USA. Talk to Azzy, she did the motorcycle trip across the country and may have some insight. There are some parts of Rt-66 that are cool, and nostalgic and have the Museums, and attractions. Much of it is just another road right next to the interstate, and sometimes the interstate has become Rt-66.
A long road trip is usually enjoyable if you have no particular schedule to maintain.

When was a kid have been coast to coast by car, train, and plane.
Since growing up, just road trips to visit friends and relatives. Used to really like listening to unabridged books on tape while traveling. Not so easy to find and play any more. Can't travel much anymore. If I really wanted to travel, think an RV with full bath and washer/dryer would be the only way to make it manageable. Pretty much got sicker and ended up in emergency my last 1.5 hour trip up the trunpike to bros for his burpday. Still getting over it. Doc says some kind of internal infection. Gots me on 3 antibiotics and nausia meds just so I can feel like crap and not worse. At least the ER doc said it wasn't terminal.

There is one section of RT-66 west of OKC south of Calumet, OK that is all original. It does not get much use since it is 1/4 mile north of I-40. Anyway, it is still just a little road, with curbs on the road like a residential street, and narrow. I can't imagine driving on a road like that with heavy traffic, and 18 wheel trucks just inches away in the other lane.
As a place to drive now it is cool, because it is almost empty except for some locals and the tourists. I was out there because a guy that specializes in selling El Camino's world wide has a nice place out there. Most of his market is other countries. He will have a few dozen El Caminos in nice shape in stock. He fixes up any issues and sells them for a minimum of 12 grand plus shipping.

OK, I am not so good at slaking. I had to finish prepping the dash. Couldn't take it any longer.
