AK will be good, even if it is coldish.

it will be good to get out of the house and away from work. Not taking the laptop with me.

I told them long ago if I am on vacation and you call me I'm billing your project for a half day and saving my vacation time.

My thoughts too. If I wanted to work, I would be here, not on vacation.

At the car show thing we had on Saturday I happened to sit next to a guy that I had never seen before in the club. Always good to meet new folks. As I am so shy, I started the routine questions of what other hobbies besides Porsches do you have. He said he was really into old Accutron tuning fork watches, and he does repairs on them. I mentioned I have a 1967 Accutron Astronaut model. That got his attention and he said most people had never heard of them.

I then mentioned the watched I got from Richard. I need some guide to prices and placed to sell them.

I may start a thread about the watches and see if any 928 fans are out there. Some are new, still in the original box. Some, like the Porsche Design watch is worn, and would likely need a good cleaning.

I have a hard time finding a watch where the face is one I like but not overly large.

These are nice, and if it was a 911 model and 911 outline I might keep one. 928s are cool cars, just not my style.

Those 928 watches are sought after on the 928 forums. Posting it there will make it sell fast for probably north of a grand. I looked at the thread after his passing and they have still been changing hands regularly.

I’d love to have one of them, purely because I love the design and remember seeing Richard working on them. But I know couldn’t drop the kind of cash it’s worth given that I haven’t worn a watch in over a year! 🤣

I didn’t know you had an Accutron! That’s another watch I’d love to own. I love the space view with the clear case. So neat to be able to see the workings, and the design is peak ‘60s!

Sid, and particular 928 forum for selling the watches?

The sale prices will all go to a tree planting charity of some sort. I need to figure that out eventually. The family asked that people plant trees in his honor. We have planted three so far this year in my yard. I figure some group will gladly accept the money, but that is a problem for after the watches are gone.

We were out yesterday afternoon finishing the last new tree ring. That chore is done.

No I just need to find a good place to sell the watches for a fair price. I guess I can try out my Google -Fu. Actually I hate Google, and I use Duck Duck Go but Duck Duck Go Fu just sounds ridiculous.

Morning all. Time to go work as best I can.....I tried to remove the tip of my index finger on my right hand last night. To much muti-tasking and not paying attention during dinner prep. Now its kind of painful to click a mouse,

Good thing you are not one of those people that are successful in everything they do!

Maybe we should put Richards name on our new cherry tree.

When we got married and combined households I told my wife my knifes are SHARP and not just a butter knife dull knife shaped object. He knifes were just pitiful dull.

I have a few knives in the drawer I use to chop veggies or whatever food item. You do not want to touch the edge to your skin as you will be bleeding. With her knives you could survive a knife fight with a ninja and he would drop from exhaustion. (OK, maybe a very slight exaggeration)

Wow, FedEx has gotten bad.

I had a package shipped to me and it was supposed to arrive on Friday, by "end of day" which I have no idea when that is exactly.

Friday came and went and they did finally update the tracking to say no attempted delivery, it will be there end of day on Saturday. That was a bald faced lie. Then they said Sunday, and again it was a bald face lie. No attempt was made at all.

So then they updated it to say it will show up on Tuesday by end of day. Wrong again. On Monday at 3:30 or so they sent an text that it was delivered!

That was the biggest bald faced lie. No package. So I used the "assistant" and it said I had to wait until the next day to go to the next level and file a claim. About 6:30 yesterday, is was just placed on my front porch. They sent another text that it was delivered. They finally got something right.

What pitiful service.
