That sucks. I hate snow except when it is up in the mountains where it belongs. I hate it what it comes to visit me.

the snow coming down is not to bad might even be slowing down. Its the ice in the road (packed snow) that is the problem. That and the fact its down hill in both directions from my house to anywhere.

If I go straight south from our neighborhood it is downhill. At the stop sign it is uphill, a fairly steep hill in all directions. Only continuing straight south is there a chance to build up some speed to be able to climb to the top of the hill, but there are two more up and downhill areas so it is not a great choice. If there is any slick roads, I just go north from our house to an official "snow route" and it is not too bad. Now I just tell the boss I am not leaving the house in crappy weather.

This February we had the horrid ice storm and then snow and stupidly insane cold weather. We were stuck at home for a week. I could not even get out to get a Valentine's card or present, but neither did my wife so I was not in big trouble.

My brother and sister in law are visiting their son in Colorado. They are at 8,300 feet, Tabernash CO and they just got another 3 feet of snow. It is the first white Christmas he and my SIL have ever had. I can't imagine wanting to go in the middle of winter, but I was not invited!

We just put Blizzaks on the van a few weeks ago. Good thing, we had ice, slush and today a few inches of wet snow.

We are getting the cold weather starting next year.

My brother and SIL are still visiting their son in Colorado. They have been there since just after Thanksgiving. I am sure he is ready for them to go home. They have had several feet of snow. They will likely leave after the new year. Hopefully a few days after a front goes through and the roads are cleared.

There are several actually.

Photoshop is just "the" standard, like AutoCAD or Office programs.

https://skylum.com/blog/best-free-photoshop-alternatives

For what we do Photoshop is the only choice. That and I have been using it since it was PhotoSytler by Aldus, and they were bought by Adobe, and merged into Photoshop. I remember using it at work on our IBM PC AT 6 MHz computer with a 2 megs of RAM and the huge 32 MB hard drive. I scanned a 8x10 at 300 PPI and then needed to rotate it 90 degrees. I started the rotation at 5:00 when I went home. When I came in at 7:30 is was not yet done and it finished at 8:30. I told the boss we needed more RAM, and another 2 megs for the expansion card was several hundred bucks.

Now I can rotate a file that is a couple of gigabytes in just a few seconds.

OK, now my week is messed up. Usually if we are going to go to the grocery store we go on Sunday morning, after going to breakfast. That avoids the crowds at the grocery store and the restaurant.

We threw caution to the winds and went to breakfast and the grocery store on a Thursday. Now it seems like Sunday and not a Thursday. I guess I am in for a really long weekend, which is OK.

We are supposed to possibly get some winter weather this Sunday, and we figured we could avoid the crap and stay home by shopping on Thursday.

We don't have a local grocery store. We are far enough in the fringes of the city that the closest store worth going to is 5.5 miles away. Fortunately we have the close by "fresh market" but it is pretty small and has some selection of food, but none of the canned goods, or cleaning supplies and other thing a real grocery store carries. The restaurant is on the way and convenient.

To add to the confusion of what day of the week it is for us, we went out for our usual Friday night date night, and even met another couple and a nice steak restaurant. The steak was a great piec of meat, cooked just like I requested, but they over-salted it. I wish more restaurants would back way way off the salt. It is so easy to add salt to anything, no need to cook with so much salt.

So essentially we jumped from Sunday to Friday in just a few hours.

No way in hell am I getting out tonight on drunk driving night. I hope the roadblocks catch a lot of drunk drivers before they crash into innocent families. Somehow the drunk always walks away with little or no injury right after killing a family of six.

Happy New years guys. Stay safe.

Winter finally arrive here. We got down to well below zero, and even a little light snow on Saturday. Sunday was truly SUNday and the snow melted off the streets, or mostly sublimated and vanished with very little water in the gutters. Only the grass has any signs of snow left. GTFO damn snow. Back to the 50s this week. Lots better.

My brother and sister in law are back on the road home. Their son flew down to Montgomery, AL and spent Thanksgiving with them, and then drove back with them and three dogs to Colorado. They just left Colorado yesterday. I am certain their son loves them very much a month of them at his house has to get old. I bet he had a happy dance to get his house back.
