Weeeeee, having fun now.

I spent 45 minutes shoveling sleet. The sun was rather weak yesterday with high thin clouds and below freezing all day, so not much melting yesterday. After over 100 hours of below freezing temps the sun came out in full strength and we are up to 42 degrees. We had to first scrape off the top layer of softened slightly sleet, and let the sun do it's magic. Then go after the bottom layer and get down to concrete. The sun will do the rest before sundown.

It was so slick this morning it was like a wet hockey arena. Our dachshund fell down twice on the back porch. He of course has toenails, and four wheel drive. It is not a major fall since his legs are just a few inches long. It was HARD packed sleet, with a slightly wet surface. I don't know what is slicker that has physical contact, not much. A guess even a hovercraft has some contact with the skirts and the ground. Maybe a magnetic levitation, but no contact there except the electrons repulsion.

Man my days are messed up. Last Tuesday we met some friends for dinner, like we usually do on a Friday night. So Tuesday seemed like Saturday. We did not venture off the property until the real Saturday afternoon due to the ice and sleet.

Yesterday we went to Enid to see my MIL for her birthday that was on Sunday. That is something we usually do on a Saturday so this seems like Sunday. I am so confused.

It is supped to hit high 60s or low 70s today. It was 71 yesterday in Enid. My shorts come back out of the dresser drawers tomorrow.

David, I would tell you to stop shipping the rain our way, but given the travel time I assume it has already been sent. Oh well, at least today and tomorrow will be nice.

Got the 4 corners up on the replacement garden shed so I can hang panels today, It has been too windy until lately to work on it. Thanks Glen!

Hey, Pete loves snow and frozen crap. He gets to drive the snow plow and clear the roads. It is just job security.

Hey we have the pineapple express going here. Lots of flooding and closed rods.

On a lighter note we found out last night that google maps has two addresses for our house and one doesn't really exist. If you type in either address you get a picture of our house. So far I have not found a way to tell them to fix it or buzz off.

Good luck finding a way to contact a human at Google.

For years any GPS or Google Earth, Bing Earth had our house on the other side of the street. The all buy a service from the same company. It finally got updated several years ago and it will bring visitors to us.

well last night the outlines of the house had two numbers. 21 and 112, the 21 is right the other belongs to a house below us. This morning it shows one number 21 but depending on where you click you get two different addresses and the same picture of our house from slightly different angles.

Ahhhhh.

Shorts are back!

It is still only 50 degrees currently, but a 77 degrees is the forecast high. My wife is not real thrilled with me wearing my dark grey house shoes with shorts. I do have short white socks, and I told her I should get out the black socks to complete the look. There is no one to see my pretty outfit, and I will put on my white shoes to go outside.

It is 78 degrees outside. Loving it. I went out front and scraped off the last of the glacier that was on the porch. The sleet had swirled around in the wind and cascaded down one valley in the front of the house. I hope it all melts by tomorrow. It is in the grass and off the concrete porch at least.

The remains of the glacier is still in the grass after I scraped it off the concrete. It got to 79 degrees and may hit 80 today.

Out fridge is not as getting cold as it should. I don't know if it is just low on refrigerant, or it is a problem with the thermistor. I guess I will be surfing YouTube for how to videos. The fridge is 24 years old. It has no filters in the ice maker to change, and it has been a great unit. New fridges all seem to be crap, and last just a few years before crapping out. I have heard nothing but horror stories about the new ones. Evidently that era of fridge used R134A, the same stuff is available at auto parts stores. I just hop my unit has a schrader vales to make it easy to top up. If not, I have to install a saddle tap to be able to top it off.

The 78 degree weather has left us.

It is in the 30 and rain is forecast. At least it ain't frozen crap.

I pulled apart the freezer, and it was iced up big time. The defrost heater was burned up. So a new on is on order and due to be here on Tuesday. I will get to take it apart again to install the heater. As least the fridge is cold again. It will be a science experiment to see how iced up it gets in 4 days with no defrost.

One of the benefits of SoCal climate. While one of the kids and his friend were playing in the driveway, I took a nap on the front lawn with the dog. Perfect sweatshirt and shorts weather today.
