Yea, I saw something about it. It is really sad, tough to lose a parent. I met him several times. A super nice guy.

Its going to be a long day. The up side is that it is closer to next Tuesday. That fun day where they blow crap up and scare the dog to death.

When I returned from my 9 day vacation, my wife informed me the freezer light was out, the bedroom light was out, and the pond filters needed to be cleaned.

The freezer was a simple bulb. The bedroom light is weird, and that the switch just went bad. Of course there is project creep. Suddenly one of the switches in the guest bathroom needs a lighted switch.

Golly electrical work is fun. Way better than plumbing work however.

Morning. Don't mix the two either. Water and power do not mix.

Today is the day our old dog thinks the world is ending. We’re all (me the missus and three dogs) sitting in the car, parked on a lookout, watching fireworks and listening to loud music so the dogs can’t hear the noise. It was just too loud for them at home.

BTW, g’day everyone.

Evening all.

The old dog was pleased when he woke this morning, that the world didn’t end last night.

I know you guys are ahead of of time wise, but the 4th of July is still not until a couple of days away!

So they have fireworks for the American Independence day down there?

We had to whip those British suckers in two wars to be free of them, and then go save their butts in two wars with the Germans.

Sorry for your dogs, nervousness during fireworks. We have one dog that goes and hides behind the couch when the loud booms go off. The other one just sleeps through it all.

At the fancy La Quinta resort they had a Keurig coffee pot in the room. It had a choice of decaf, or the really terrible "dark roast" that was only a few steps up from Charbucks. It was just bad enough to give up after a couple of days, and go without. I called the concierge and asked if they had any other choices for coffee, and they brought me a ton of the decaf. I just ignored it as well.

At the 100+ year old hotel in Magdalena, New Mexico they too had a Keurig coffee pot in the kitchen area, not in the room. It was the first coffee I had in several days.

It was for sure camping out for me at Magdalena hotel. No coffee pot in the room, no TV at all, no fridge, and very slow WiFi. But the AC was wonderful! Total camping out.

I like my coffee in the mornings. I never drink coffee after the two cups in the morning, except one cup at the "Motors in the Morning" at the dealership. A cup of free coffee, and a free donuts is too good to pass up. That only happens once per month.

I can live and function just fine without coffee. I prefer to have my coffee but I can live without it when all that is available is really horrid coffee.

I have met a few engineers that without coffee would probably be in jail.

I have never been dependent on any particular beverage or food. I never will be. I refuse.

I really like beer, but I had to stop when I had my hip replacement. I went for 45 days with no beer. No big deal. I like coffee, but it is far from vital to me, same with beer.

If all the wine and hard liquor vanished from Earth, I would not care at all personally. I would mourn the loss of beer or coffee, but I would survive just fine.

I noticed a payment from my checking account to my credit card company for $44.26 and was wondering WFF?

After a lengthy phone call, it seems that when the resort hotel charged my account, and then refunded the same amount, that refund counted as a payment towards my statement balance, and it left just the $44.26 as the final necessary payment to keep the CC company happy. No interest paid, no issues, just my balance went up a lot with the charge hit for real after staying there a week.

So if I paid the minimum amount due, it will only take 26 years to pay it off!

If up the payment to just over $100 a month it pays off in 4 years. I have it set to pay statement balance, when due, as I have for decades. I will pay it off in one month, but I get to use their money for free for a month. Weird. I don't pay interest.

Its a Monday for sure. I just got off a call with the supplier of the new CPAP. Three weeks ago I had phoned them told them the address for shipping was in need of an update. After going round and round and making sure it was the house I waited. Call today only to find out that they have the new address on file but shipped it to my old office. The office that has been closed since the beginning of covid........................I hate stupid people. I told her to have fun with that and read her off the date and person I talked to about the address and no I was not able to go get it as its not my place of work any longer.

David, sounds normal for this day and age.

Per the coffee topic. I like it and I can drink it all day, and usually do at work. Can go without, but since I drink it black it does not spike my glucose levels.

I will sometimes have ice water at work and usually have it at supper at home. Sprechers on special occasions since the honey doesn't spike like hfcs.
