is it safe to use a cough sirup that expired December 2009?
Never been opened, stored in cool, dark place.
I have a cough and this is the only thing I have for the moment.
I'll go to the drugstore to get a new bottle asap.
Can I take it for now?

Ooooh, last time I had cough syrup with codeine was in BCT back in '03. They freely gave us all sorts of great drugs. I stubbed my toe once and got percocet. Got a persistant muscle cramp and they threw flexeril at me. I was like Charlie Sheen, but all the women there were butt ugly and mean.

You are fine to take it then. Most likely the bottle it was dispensed out of wouldn't have expired for several more years. For safety the expiration becomes one year after the date filled as soon as it comes out of the manufacturers package....

Thing is, my cough has evolved into feverish temperatures, vertigo and the feeling as if my head is wrapped in a hot wet blanket....
I need vitamines, a hot shower and a kind nurse to bring me stuff...
