the targa top. I don't have to fold it to store it in the back seat.

I did a job for a customer today that was kinda funny. The guy is an engineer with a ton of initials after his name. He wanted to pay me to make him a file that is 90% BS. The government provides topographical data to anyone for free. It is 100 foot resolution so a hill that is 101 feet tall will just show up but if it is 90 feet tall does not show up. He wanted a 2 foot resolution file. I told him to make a valid accurate file would be mega thousand dollars over the many square miles he wanted. We would LOVE to have the job! He did not have a budget for that. His budget was about 100 bucks. He wanted a new 918 & the 911 Turbo that matches for 100 bucks.

I told him all I could do was interpolate the government data and it would be just junk accuracy but it would look pretty! He said to do it.

It was like taking a photo of the 918 from a video taken from 100 feet away and making a print at actual size. And he was happy to pay for it.

I told him over and over it was just junk, but that was "good enough" for his project.

People getting upset over code names is silly.

Example: Apple computer has code names for ALL their projects. It allows employees to talk about projects without revealing what they are talking about unless you know what the project really is. A lot of their code names have to do with astronomy, not sure why. Anyway, one such project was a new computer model and it's code name was Carl Sagan. Somehow Carl Sagan himself got wind of it and asked them to not use his name. So...they started calling it the "Stupid Astronomer." Mr. Sagan got wind of this, got pissed, and sued Apple Computer for slander. The case actually made it before a judge and before the judge threw the case out Apple is on court record officially calling Carl Sagan a stupid astronomer 14 times.

The original beep tone for the Mac is called "Sosume" or So Sue Me. It is called that because for Apple Computer to use the name Apple it made an agreement with Apple Records (the beatles) that it would not produce music. The beep is the first musical tone Apple Computer's made.

Got me feeling nostalgic tonight.

Back in the days of 300 baud modems I had an Apple IIc computer and Apple 300 baud modem. To dial the modem you typed "AT" for attention and the modem would reply "Ready" then you could send D for dial and the phone number. If you typed "ET" instead of "AT" the modem would reply "Phone Home". Finding Easter Eggs were such fun in the olden days.
