35C is right at 95F It was 40C here yesterday.

I drove my Porsche to work today because I want to drop it at a local repair shop to have them do the Tech Inspection for my Roebling Road Track event in August. I usually eat lunch with RKD on Tuesdays so he can follow me over to the shop after lunch and drive me home to get my El Camino. It has not rained here in a long time. Guess what, it is raining BIG time today. If the rain had waited just 10 more minutes I could have parked my car inside here at work. Ah well it has been rained on many times before. We really need the rain.

I can't imagine taking my 911 much less a 959 to a mechanic that was not VERY experienced. If he wants to learn brake systems learn at a local tire shop working on regular cars.

At the shop where I took my El Camino to last week they like to do an inspection of all the fluids and then push their BK line of products. (I use the BK44 fuel treatment). Anyway when I got home I ALWAYS check the torque on the lug nuts. All were just fine except one was a bit over torqued. I got to inspecting the car and noticed the brake fluid reservoir cap was not snapped down tight, and had greasy fingerprints on the side of the reservoir.

I expressed my dis-satisfaction with that fact to the owner of the place. They did not even show me the results of the fluid tests. I flush my brake fluid evey year on the Porsche and "while I am am at it" I do the Elky. I had my transmission serviced 6 months ago, the engine oil is a month old, the power steering was all new just a year ago I replaced the water pump last winter so the anti-freeze is 100% and the gas tank was full!

today, i go out to my car to jump the battery. it hasn't been driven in two weeks, the battery is flat, there is a slow drain on the battery that i haven't been able to find. immediately i notice things are not where i left them. then i notice that the faceplate to my stereo is gone. "really?", i ask myself. yeah, left the driver's door unlocked, apparently. this is LOL funny because the faceplate is from a 10+ year old POS clarion stereo. there is nothing else missing, including the $2+ in the ashtray, which is more than the faceplate is worth. i think i will just upgrade the stereo at this point.

the thing that pisses me off is that this is about 3 times in just a few months that people have gone through cars on our street. i am going to ambush them with the rover: if you lock the vehicle with the remote and then unlock the passenger side door with the key, the alarm will sound if any of the doors are opened. this should be fun.
