Well the weekend is almost over and Lanna has had a good workout the last few days.

Good afternoon guys.

It has been a busy weekend. The 911 is waxed, the yard in mowed. I did not participate at the autocross today. I went out and helped a little and took home the money.

I still have a bunch of "honey doos" to get done before the big trip to GA.

What was the decision on the Fender saddle issue? DIY or bring it back and have it done at the shop?

the guy who did the set up to lock down the bridge fixed it for free. I plan to find my steel ruler at work and take some measurements for future use. The "V" get picked up tomorrow.

If you want to take notes, measure the 6 strings, one at a time at the first fret and 12th. That will give you what you need to know for replacing the nut if needed and the saddle heights. You can measure the saddle heights themselves, but the 12th fret measurement will cause the saddles to be at the right heights.

P.S. The string heights should be different from the low "e" to high... At least the three low stings should be 5/64ths (example) and the three high strings should be 3/64ths (example) at the first fret.

I think I will do all of that. Thanks for the info. I am thinking I'd rather work on the 911 than his guitar.

It's actually not that difficult. It seemed daunting to me at first as well, then I started playing and it made sense. Just don't adjust the truss rod. You can ruin the neck. Adjusting the string height (action) really won't cause more than $30 damage - the money you'd pay the tech to fix the issues you may cause.

Blues is good. Considering that rock is based on it. I've been trying to focus on the blues a bit myself.

Sid, I'm tellin' ya, you need to find out a way to come visit me in LA.

I went to a business associate's house this afternoon for a BBQ/pool party. I thought it would be "old" people (he's probably about 50). Well, his daughter is home from college (she turns 21 tomorrow) and she invited a HS friend, who brought along about 6 other friends who are all summer interning in show biz. 8 bikini clad coeds (and not a single one chubby ) in the pool. If my friend sends me a picture, I'll be sure to forward it to you.

Sorry, buddy. I had no idea all the girls would be there (other than the guy's daughter). I literally was handed a margarita as I walked into a backyard pool area with half-a-dozen 21 year-olds stripping down into bikinis. They loved Hazel, BTW.

I need to get with 2011 and get a phone with a camera and internet access, huh?

David, I was thinking of an Internet band thing. Doesn't have to be a full time commitment, but maybe try and put together a cover or two. Seems to be the in thing these days.

Why do I do this to myself... My little tube amp project won't be so little. Footprint is 16" x 8", possibly a little more with the enclosure.
