Well then here are your options
1. keep your clothes on
2. see a doc about removing the knees and making you shorter.
3. drink more and the pain will be less..

That would be one hell of a drive. The bottle might be empty when I got there.

The state has a list of docs willing to do these evaluations. Then all the patient's medical records are sent to the selected QME doctor. The doctor reviews the medical records in advance (I spent 4 hours doing so over last weekend for this one) and then evaluates the patient. The report written serves as a "final word" on what care the patient gets.

That's the theory. This guy didn't show up. So his 45 minute time slot came and went. At least I can send a list of medical records reviewed and get paid $250/hr for that. Can't bill for the time allotted for the missed appointment, though. I imagine the attorneys involved will make the guy reschedule.
I assume you have some sort of private enterprise, Noah? Or is it just this kind of evaluations you get payed for personally?

I'm in private practice. One (minor) income stream is to do these evaluations, which are organized by the state's board of workman's comp. You get paid by the insurance company, but these are intended to be independent evaluations (you're neither for the injured worker, nor for the insurance company). You're not allowed to treat these patients, so that reduces any secondary gain (i.e. you need a surgery, and I can provide it for you). I do probably less than one per month.

I understand. We have a similar construction in Sweden for the general practitioners.

How at best one of us would get a time out and the thread would keep going. Or we could beg z-man to block it for a bit.
