I have 3 grandkids, the first one is Austin (5), he is my sons boy and is now living in the environment of a broken home. Beth and I have unfortunately been thrown into the same group as my son and we are not "allowed" to see him very much. This angers me to the point of violence so I don't bring it up much. Then comes Spawn, the oldest of my daughters (1.5) he is the one with the medical issues and is now living with Beth and I while Mommy convalesces after giving birth yesterday. That is my only granddaughter (1.5 days) we refer to her as Predator because all the sonograms showed her with her hands over her face and she always had her fingers in that "I am going to de-bone you if you don't get away from me"posture.
So you see the gramps comments that are just now coming out are only about 5 years behind the time. You can tell by my Santa-wanna-be beard.

Morning all.
Miss a week and miss the world in here. A passing - (so sorry David...); an arrival (Congrats again Rick...); Chinese ghost towns and gay penguins. What will the weekend bring?

I have been dealing with a customer that is just like 50% of our other customers only he sounds just like an Arab terrorist. He has the same accent as every terrorist from the movies and TV. Everyone knows that is a 100% accurate source of information
![]() My customer even has a name that would put him on a no fly list. He is buying historical photos of a 10 acre piece of property he bought that is out in the sticks. He is having the common problem of neighbors fences that are on his property. The only real point of me mentioning all of this is when he came in to pick up his order he was dressed just like a farmer. He even had a bit of a farmer tan. He seems to be a real nice guy and he paid cash.

Just got chewed out for NOT doing something I was specifically told NOT to do! @#$!!
Was told specifically to NOT update any services on the Exchange server because there are lots of linked services in our domain due to some of the software packages. Well, the web dude updated the .NET services on the web servers today and it killed the web access for Exchange. No error messages in the logs, it just doesn't talk to Mac Outlook, Web Browsers, or Phones. Employees are calling IT because their email access quit. I get call at 1am to say I need to fix exchange as it hasn't been working right since 3pm. And a new IT guy that knows all about Exchange has been messing round on the Exchange server. I see nothing in the logs and call Microsoft...the first thing they do is check the server updates and tell me I have to update the server before they can even talk to me any further. I update the server and it fixes web access because it puts the Exchange server on the same version of updates as the other servers in our domain. Tell my boss about the outage and solution and get chewed out for NOT keeping the server up to date...What?! ONLY THEN do I found out about the other .NET services being updated at about the same time as email services stopped. How about the web dude getting chewed out for updating services on domain servers on a week day, AND NOT notifying everyone else so all the servers can be updated to the same level???

Hi Fellas! This weekend I'm heading off to SoCal for the rest of 2011. My wife is already on the way there, and me and the dog leave Sunday. It'll be nice to have a bit warmer weather and spend time with our son, and also work on our house there. We're supposed to have a new HVAC and energy efficient windows/patio doors installed on this trip. I'm going to try to get some attic insulation in, too. Now my lower back is killing me (L3-L4-L5). Oh joy, what timing!
![]() I hope you guys enjoy the holiday season!
