Custom valve/intake tune means sending the head and intake off to a guy that does "his" valve grind and lightweight valves that flow best, and port matches and balances the intake to the head.
what guy?

The exhaust sounds great, but what's up with the warning light top center of the dash?

The head/intake guy is Jim Morton. The custom cams that are iffy are Colt Cams. A couple of other guys that have done a LOT of the 928 power up stuff and sell the tuner box/software say the Colt cams that claim 380rwhp put all the power at 6500 and higher but don't have as much as the GT cams in the 3000-5000 rpm range according to their cam modeling software that has been accurate with all the cams they've put in cars so far.

Bringing it back stock looks like around $5000
GT cams are $1500.
Stage2 cams and valve springs are $3000.
Haven't found out what the custom head/intake work is going to cost yet.

Sounds like the GT cams would be a better idea. More usable

The heads guy told me to put it back stock because of the low miles, 62K.
Then when on to tell me later that since it had bent valves he would go back with better valves, light weight retainers, etc. and port and flow match the heads and intake.

Fark!!!!!!
Just came from the cigar lounge....hung around and chatted after close with the managing partner.....his wife got an awesome offer to go back to work fir her old employer and he's tired of his other partners bs....his last day is march 2......the other partners are gonna be appalled when they find out what it'll cost to replace him (they need someone with the proper experience and willing to work 80hrs per week ) I told him to drop my name, but, at least initially I think they're gonna be floored by my salary requirements......sadly, what I quoted is probably 30% less than anyone else qualified locally would want.....

So, im pretty sure its closing.....the only place on island to smoke inside and get a drink and have a nice lounge atmosphere. I'm bummed...
