Australians have high wages, D.
It makes everything $$$. We have high wages like in Germany, without the hard work and quality.

Like Vas says, high wages and out here there's bugger all decent mechanics so they charge like a wounded bull coz the next decent mechanic is 1500km away.
Besides, even though its only one side leaking I told them to do both sides and while they're open they can check and adjust the valve clearances. It'd be lucky to be $100 in parts, the rest is labour.

Ugh, I hate moving.....helped a buddy pack the truck tonight.....I'm beat.....
Of course, I scored a bunch of swag from his previous line of work.....as a CAO rep... Several big ashtrays, several really nice 3 stick holders, 2 travel humidors, a slick lotus table lighter and a handful of what has to be one of the best smokes available in the US. |

Sorry Vas, you can have an extra one for me.
I got my English midterm back today. I have to do well. Grade is 30% midterm, 30% final, 30% reading quizzes, 10% participation. I have been to all classes and 'participated' but my reading quiz scores are pretty bad. Probably around 50% average. So I need the midterm and final grades to be good so I pass. I got an A! ![]() A 5 page paper on a book I haven't read. (I haven't actually read any of the books we are discussing). So now I just need to repeat it with a different topic for the final. 5 page MLA argumentative essay.

And my Heat Transfer professor is being very flexible so I can take the final on either Monday or Wednesday. I am feeling masochistic so I think I will go for the Monday final. That way I have final exams from 7AM-4PM on Monday, then I can do the 2.5 hour drive home and have almost an extra week of spring break.
So it would be heat transfer, mechanical engineering design 2, and fluid mechanics 2.

The sensor plate seems to take a fair bit of pressure to pop it up, I have another VW Golf Cabriolet which has the Jetronic fuel system, and its sensor is really lightly balanced, and pops up with even the lightest touch. So maybe the vacuum leads from the WUR are flawed, or even maybe the wrong way round, will need to look on the weekend when we go out to the farm again. Don't see much other possible adjustment to the sensor plate or arm, the idle screw is there, but not sure if that really effect the balance of the arm and the lift pressure on the sensor, any answers there guys. Had a gauge on the fuel pressure and it is fine, at the fuel pump, accumulator, and WUR, as per the manual, so maybe it is air starvation, air leaks or vacuum leaks, although none are showing up. I have seen from other threads that I should get a flammable spray and a straw and trace the air and vacuum leads when the car is at idle and warmed up, yeah right, as if I can get it to idle, or to go long enough to be warm. Got spark etc, that doesn't look like the problem. The fuel pump is running.

Do you think it floods the engine (fuel smell in exhaust)? could be that the cold start injector keeps going when it shouldn't. check temp sensor clean the sensor plate with brake cleaner check for vacuum leaks Does it have a Lambda sensor in the exhaust? and last but not least, check the cold start injector You could fiddle around with the meter adjustment screw, but that's tricky stuff and could make it worse if you don't keep track of things or work without an O2 meter. Maybe Rick can add or correct the above? Haven't got my Bosch book with me and it's been a while since i messed with CIS

Good thanks, mate.
I spoke to the mech today. Inside looks good. However I asked him to do a complete rebuild while we have it out. I will put in a new clutch as well. ![]() Azza Sid

no Lambda, no excessive fuel smell, temp sensor not sure as it isn't getting very warm, but temp gauge is working, sensore plate switch is working. Going through the vacuum system again on the weekend. Haven't touched the meter adjustment too scarred to until it is running a bit better, would really fcuk it up if I started playing with than at this stage. Have downloaded the Bosch Jetronic manual, good reading...... And had a look at the Merc forums, as they seem to have heaps of experience over there for the CIS systems, if you google for problems, very educational.
