Morning guys. Good to see you back Markus.

I rode Piuma and Schueren today. From the intersection of Piuma and Malibu Canyon to the top of Stunt.

The marine layer was thick and persistent in those taller coastal mountains so once I got about 3/4 of the way up Piuma I was in the clouds. I couldn't see any of the spectacular view I know is there on the top of Stunt, but at least it was nice and cool for the long ride up. I was still able to see Malibu Canyon and where Malibu Creek meets the ocean from a couple places on Piuma.

It was a long climb but at a nice, constant grade that made it pleasant. The downhill was more fun of course. I could really get some speed up and it just kept going with lots of nice turns, like Mulholland Highway by the Rock Store only longer. The part on the coast side had some neat scenery in the exposed rock strata and the nice wildflowers growing amongst the rocks. Too bad the sun was not out for the ride back.

Dave, Max:

Either of you two gonna be around this Sunday? There's a concours on Rodeo Drive every Father's Day. 9 am - 4 pm. This year Aston's the featured marque, so it's all Brit stuff. Interested in going? Last year I took my daughter and ran into Magnus & Mrs. Magnus.

My Dad and I went one year but I am moving back in to Cal Poly that day. I am only allowed to check in starting Saturday and classes start Monday. I want to watch some of LeMans and have one last day down here in the Santa Monicas on Saturday.

OK computer guys, my WD external hard drive that I use as a backup drive now has a folder I can't modify. I have a folder of Solidworks parts and I can't delete the old one to copy the new one over from the computer. I can't just copy the new one over and replace it, either. The computer can't do anything with the files on the external drive.

I can put a new folder on the external drive and then delete and or modify that, so I still can backup my files. I can still access my photos as well and modify those so those still can be backed-up, it is just that one Solidworks folder.

What gives?

Hey Rick , I found the name of the girl with the captivating face:

Gabriella Grecco

In that first picture her eyes just draw me in. Can't stop looking.

Everything has a "read only" box shaded, even if it is not read-only. If I try unchecking that box for the bad folder it cannot modify the folder. It just hangs up, taking forever before deciding that the folder does not exist or something.

Folders are always read-only.

Assuming Win 7 (or Vista), right click on the folder, click on Properties, select the security tab and make sure the username for the computer you are on is shown. If it is, click on the name and see if it has all permissions - in the lower box.

If your name is not there, select Edit and when the box comes up, select Add and type in your username, i.e. Dave, in my case. Once added select Okay. Make sure the Full Control box is checked.

If that does not work, select Advanced, select the Owner tab and see if you own the folder. If not, select Edit and see if you name comes up and select it. If not, add it. Make sure to check the box that starts off with "Replace owner on...".

Tentatively heading to Super Car Sunday to meet up with Marc K. He's moving to Bali and trying to sell his 997 and VW.

Alarick, as I mentioned a few pages back, my pinky still hurts. I never bothered to put in a splint. I finally have it in one, but man it hurt a bit when I took it off to shower. Hurt like it does when I bend it the wrong way.

I did not see my username so I tried to add it and then it was going to apply the settings but it hung up on the first file.
