Now we are watching the round ball game. Just a silly game but everyone here except me wants to see it. I would prefer to watch a sport like racing. Thunder up !

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there in the Stijn thread.

Somewhat disappointed at the LeMans result. Sorry if you haven't caught up but some of us don't have DVRs and like to follow the race live and get info as soon as possible.

I think people in MA consume more ice cream per capita than any other state (so presumably they know their stuff). I think the quality of ice cream on Cape Cod is hard to beat. Every village has its own mom 'n pop ice cream store staffed by high school kids on summer vacation. Great stuff, whether it's our Four Seas, Sundae School, Ice Cream Smuggler, or even Ben and Jerry's. If your sales route ever takes you to the Cape, you've gotta try one of those places.

How can you be surprised? Porsche has like 3 legit entries compared to about a dozen Ferraris, a couple teams of Corvettes, and the odd Aston Martin. Stuttgart doesn't even race in the prototype division. It's like Porsche is more interested in making the sportiest vehicle for each production market niche (and making money) than it is in racing.

Good call, D.

Just realized I have eaten red meat once in two weeks. Maybe that's why those steaks look so freaking good!

Actually, the issue is that they are spending more of their resources on developing the 918 road car (should be a big profit margin there) and the LMP1 car (big deal- playing for overall victory in the WEC and Le Mans). The GT cars remain their bread and butter money makers as far as Motorsport division goes, but they have shifted focus to other things. In the mean time the 997 will have to make due with waivers (the Aston Martin has just about every one you can get while Porsche has up until now had very few) until the 991 based race car comes out (another project for Porsche Motorsport engineers).

okay.... back to windows....

i already ran into the thing i hate the most about linux: installing software. seriously. do i really have to type in 10 command line commands in order to install openoffice? what a PITFA. is there an easier way to do this? paging dave or rick, BTW.... trust me, i can do the syntax and crap, i just don't want to.

other than that, ubuntu is pretty slick and installs like a champ. it found ALL my hardware and things just worked. installing other software, however, just sucks.

d.

I have Ubuntu on a netbook. I tried to upgrade to a new version and had all sorts of problems. Mostly the video drivers. I said screw it and reinstalled the original version of Ubuntu that came with it.

I'm tempted to jack the left rear up and remove the tire and putting a jackstand under it.
