Morning all,

safe and sound here in Maryland. Still got power, and no tress down around the house or area, that we can see which really amazes me, even the dead tree next door is still there!

Rick, did you get any snow yesterday?

Jim glad you are okay up there, also glad we don't live in New Jersey, on the Delaware east side or NY!!

no Darell, no news on when she will be shipped, given the weather over the mountains between us and you, and the affect that the hurricane is having on the east coast, not sure she will be coming in a hurry, transport companies might be busy shipping other stuff, like generators!!!!

it looks like there will be a massive amount of salvage cars from the coast, also. i saw a video of cars strewn about the streets and the announcer saying that there was water over the hoods of the vehicles. madness!

Yeah, I don't get it, a car is a mobile machine, and why they didn't drive them out and up onto high ground in the last few days, they knew the storm was coming, derrrr!!!

we had the same thing when they had massive flooding around Brisbane in Queensland a couple of years ago, for about a week they had had enormous rainfall inland after a cyclone, and they were telling people it would flood through the city and low lying areas, but noooo, they didn't move their cars and trucks and possessions, then they all started blaming the weather men, the local government for blocked drains, the federal govt for not doing enough to protect them, well I say protect yourself!! Cars don't drown themselves!!

Even more interesting. Saw a documentary about the Mississippi River Basin. Seems the watershed area has grown too large for the capacity of the river through the New Orleans area of the delta where the river dumps into the ocean. The Army Corps of Engineers actually judges the rainfall and decides what feeder rivers WILL FLOOD that year to keep from flooding New Orleans. And every year you see on the news of some area that floods. And the Corps does NOT tell anyone which area they are going to flood so it looks like a natural disaster.

Morning Richard, yes I have seen that doco as well, man needs to stop building back in these flood areas, there are many areas in Australia where they are building on known flood areas, and you think, wtf, and it wouldn't be so bad if they build on stilts or something that could take the occasional flooding, but they still insist on putting down a cement slap and building a flat house. And then they ***** when they can't get insurance

I see folks tell a TV reporter they don't have insurance. I always want to tell them yes you do, you are self insured unless you are smart enough to pay an insurance company to take the risk.

I hate sending my money to a insurance company but I am not willing to self insure.

Evening Y'all. We suffered from a non event from the storm. Just north and west of us got snow though. I hate snow, I hate cold and I hate winter. As for Peggy, she is calm cool reserved and will simply run over anything.
On a lighter note my boss asked me to look at his lexus today, there is a problem with the HVAC and when I tried to tell him what was wrong he just told me to fix it. I am waiting on parts. he kinda freaked out.
