I have lots of engineer friends from highschool and college and most of them are somewhat normal but, I work with a a very "concentrated" group, for sure. Maybe it's the nature of this kind of design.
The normal ones are few and far between. But no, I didn't get hired based only sexist reasons(being a decent looking female that knows what she's doing and wont take crap off of anyone didn't hurt, for sure ) and insinuating such may be the one thing in the world that will send me into a murderous rampage.

Is she through all the internship/residency already, Fint? My boy has been out working few a few years. He sometimes complains about the workload/stress (sounds like an engineer, ha!). He could've gone into a nice 9-5 clinical environment, but he didn't like attending to the same patients on a long-term basis.

Cool your jets, Janet. No murderous rampages before the caffeine starts to kick in, please.

My son was in anesthesiology. He did a fellowship in chronic pain and hated it. That would've given him the 9-5 work. He picked up a residency in acute pain and liked it. Also loved the OR work. So, he's doing OR work and some acute pain cases thrown in. The hours can suck at times.

I am sure she brings a lot to the workplace...(imagine green font) even if she does not like any of her coworkers (green font). From her posts (interest in engines/mechanicals), I might have thought she was an engineer. |

![]() I do have an interest on those things but, I'm too much of an extrovert. It didn't quite fit. I love what I do and I don't "dislike" my coworkers but, they are clearly socially challenged. MDs tsk tsk... I lost my bff to medicine. :/

Yep...if they ever get a girl to go out with them...they ask them to get married. Efficient and reduces the opportunity for future rejection. Usually a lot like their mother....or another engineer.
I was married first, so my wife is an enigma. Last edited by fintstone; 06-03-2013 at 05:33 AM.. |

My wife and my mother are polar opposites.

Good morning to the engineers and the rest of the rest of the normal people. Well, I guess the regulars on this thread are not exactly normal. We are all kinda Abby-normal.
We did go see the new Star Trek in 3D. The Imax 3D is an amazing visual and auditory experience. The movie is fun for long term Trekkies like myself. I see a few plot line history changes, but it is just a movie and entertaining. The current crop of actors do a good job of mimicking the speech patterns of the characters from the series and older movies. No surprise that they leave room for future sequels.

It's love/hate..I was also just teasing. Most of my non-work affiliated friends are engineers
