I do that all year. 7:30 to 4:30 are normal hours. Of course I come in at 7:00 most days.

It went fine... I liked her but, I'm not going to hire the first person we interview..my boss likes her because she's cute little young thing (this much he told me) and I have a problem with that. Not a good reason to hire someone.. we need help, not a pretty face.

Wait, you like her? Does that mean she has the skills to do the job well and has the personality to fit well on the team? While I agree that you should interview more candidates to get the best person for the job, if the answer is yes, you should hire her, regardless if she's cute, perky, ugly, or fat. And as for your boss, it doesn't matter if he thinks she was cute or ugly, if she can do the job the best out of the candidates, she should get the job.

I do like her, she's entry level and I'll have to teach her a bunch of stuff which is perfectly fine but she reminds me of myself, she has the motvation and appreciation for what the job entails she just needs some mentoring. I'm a little concerned about how quickly she'll be able to pick up on things but, I was turned off that my boss doesn't seem to care if she has the skills or not, she's cute so he wants to hire her. I told him we need to inteview at least one or two other candidates and in the meanwhile I'll bring her back in so I can get to know her skill level about better without his flirting clouding our judgement.

I work with a bunch of sexist men, unfortunately. The females here that are strong-willed and can tell the guys to go eff themselves are the ones that have historically survived. I'd like to think with me here, it won't matter for her because I won't let that happen to her.

You and me both.. I had nothing to speak of when I was hired at my current employer 5 years ago...although technically I was the only candidate with breast at all and my boss at the time was a sexist, misogynistic prick.
