Markus, we have 2 Koi ponds at home on Australisa, and I wonder how they are going, James the eldest midget goes over occassionallky and cleans the filters, and the tennants say they are looking after them, but I already know we have lost most of the biggest fish. But will just have to replace them when we get home.

You can't stay home just because of the fish.

At the airport to leave LA. Didn't get to see the ocean but saw Conan O'brien. My first official star sighting so that's exciting. My friend who lives in the little neighborhood where we were eating said there are stops on a star bus tour that stops in front of this ice cream store and restaurant so people can "maybe" get a glimpse of a star. That sounds so absurd to me. It's almost like the star is a specimen... To be watched in captivity. And as the star, it would be so surreal to imagine looking at a whole bus full of strange people oogling at you and taking pictures. I can understand the frustration and angst famous people have against the general public. But at the same time, it the price you pay for being famous. Again, what a strange world we live in.

Thinking I just need to come back for a vacation. Got together with two high school friends. But other people on FB saw I was here and wanted to get together. Love my friends.
You definitely should come out this way again. You could meet me, Dave, Noah, and probably a whole lot more So Cal Pelicans.

As for stars, the Rock Store is a pretty good spot to see Jay Leno. And Chad McQueen (son of Steve) comes by sometimes. He knows me but I don't know Jay well because I've only seen him a few times. He usually comes by in one of his crazy cars or bikes but it is usually around noon or late in the afternoon. I am an early to midafternoon driver, but I occasionally see him in the mornings. Usually in a Bugatti or Hispano-Suiza. Yesterday he came late in a McLaren F1. Oh, and there is always Magnus. I guess he is a celebrity.

Markus!

So good to have you back!

I've been listening to Sweedish Progressive Metal lately. Think you can do some songs along the lines of Opeth?

Thanks! Too kind!

What do you know. Swedish Metal. I suppose there are a few decent bands of that flavor around these parts.
Ehh.. let me get back to you on that.

I have met Dave and Noah. And Joe Bob, and Brando. And some other pelicans that only hang in tech and not off topic. Even went to an LA pelican wedding.

richard, i am trying your cherry juice remedy, again. it seems to be working this time. i am beginning to believe that my avoidance of beer is what is causing all the inflammation. but i am not going back to the beer. i've been doing more research.... anyway, if things aren't drastically better by tuesday, the wife is making an appointment with a podiatrist. after two clinic visits and over a week of discomfort, at times excruciating, i am willing to do just about anything, including seeing a podiatrist.

Eaten any organ meat lately, like hot dogs or liver and onions?

Rick and D....

I'm thinking its time to do some work on the 944 before I move away from home and dads lift. So I'm curious if you guys think I'm going about this right. It currently has a leak around the pan gasket, and from behind the oil pump. It has been 3 years and a few months since I did the Tbelt and water pump.

So I'm thinking I will get the parts and replace the tbelt and rollers, as well as the front oil seals, but not the water pump. Its got *maybe* 15k on it. D can I pick up the Tbelt tools from you when I come through? Any reason I should mess with the waterpump at all?

Pan gasket will be trickier, but is there anything I should do while I'm in there? Obviously make sure everything looks good internally. Maybe add a crank scraper?

And anything else I should do while I've got the lift? Pretty much everything else has been gone over and is fine.

Evening Y'all, got back, that was a fun trip with the exception of Pittsburgh and some idiot drivers. The kids are doing great and were very happy to see us.
We saw a nasty wreck on I81 on the way back, a pickup towing a camper had some kind of failure on the trailer. It started to fishtail in front of us badly and the guy got it back with some very fancy driving then it darted left and snapped back to the right and flipped right off the road. Fortunately it came off the hitch so the truck never went over, but there was camper scattered all over the road.
Most of our drive was through the mountains of W.Va. so lanna had a great time, beth was a little green at times.

Sid, the while you are in there will kill you. Just inspect everything replace/fix what needs to be done and keep the water pump.
