Growing up in the era I did and living on base during my core trick or treat years was great. My dad would rip one of my shirts and rub some dirt on my face and I was a hobo. Every year. We would take a pillow sack and go door to door and fill it up. Go home dump that out under the bed and go out again. We could run around in all the neighborhoods and the Generals quarters area were the best. One guy would cook hot dogs and hand you a fresh grilled hot dog. His neighbor had a coke fountain. Burp.

We would have a HUGE pile of candy and had to hide it from my parents or they would not let us have it all.

We alternate between my sisters neighborhood and my neighborhood. Although this is the second year in her neighborhood. One of my neighbors stands in the street dressed as a zombie with a running chainsaw. The kids were freaked out. Actually it is a part of a cul-de-sac and all the neighbors in that circle dress up as zombies and have pretty gruesome displays in their front yard.

In her neighborhood, there's one house that passes out full size candy bars and another that has one of those popcorn popper carts and you can smell the popcorn two blocks away. Sooooo good. We have a neighbor that passes out toothbrushes and toothpaste.

I love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. It's all about fun. And you can be as involved as you want of nothing. No stress. Christmas can be stressful. I like Christmas second because of the boys but if it was just me? Thanksgiving would be second. Slightly stressful but at the end of it, you stuff yourself silly and nap. Then it would be Christmas.

Debating whether or not I should go to a sushi bar tonight after trick or treating with my boys. They are offering a cash prize and my friend thinks I can win with my sriracha costume.

Right now, with us living in a downtown condo, Halloween is nothing, nada, zilch. So, Thanksgiving is currently my favorite holiday, followed by the 4th of July. In a couple of years, when we bail outta DC and move into our SoCal house, I think we'll enjoy Halloween a lot. Some of the neighbors there have their homes really decked out for Halloween. They look amazing.

There was a local nightclub that held a costume contest every year. The grocery store that I stopped at was in the same shopping center. One guy had a movie quality Bigfoot costume. He was a big dude but the head on the costume was fake. He looked out the neck to see. It as scary to see him walk in. He knew to NEVER go in the woods in that outfit. He won the contest every year.

Last night I heard a funny noise outside of my home office. This is what I found.

This is the guest bathroom in the hall next to the laundry room.

He was headed out the doggie door in the laundry room. We keep them in the laundry room during the day. They have access to the back yard through the doggie door. Little Reuben has decided it might be fun to play with paper.

We gotta break this new habbit quickly.

Little Reuben knows that he's getting stiffed for Halloween, so he's TPing your house.

yeah, my idea is slightly more practical.......god it'd be an insane amount of work.....even just welding the IO opening shut and making it an outboard there's a ton of work there...

Why not leave it as an IO? On any craigslist there's about 50 boats that would be a good donor setup...

But, welding that up and bracing it for an outboard would be one of the easier parts of that project honestly...

Evening Y'all,
We had close to a hundred kids and ran out of candy. I managed to terrorize a couple of adults and some kids would not venture into my yard.
