You get a lot of the mud basher and rock climber setups down south but out here you end up with something of a compromise that can sorta do it all (carefully).

Most of all you want to be able to ride the tops of those corrugations at about 80kph. Any less and you shake the 5hit out of the vehicle, and any more and you need a lot of talent if anything goes pear shaped. The terrain off the roads/tracks is very unforgiving and will encourage you to go turtle (over and over again).

Having said that, +100kph is not uncommon on the marbles if the conditions are right. The problem is the conditions change rapidly without warning (bulldust and washouts). Concentration is a must, and as soon as I go dirt the centre diff gets locked so that front and back are spinning at the same rate.

A good suspension setup like what I'm doing when it's new will make you think you can go faster/harder safely. I'll have to keep reminding myself to back off before I break something.

So the speed limit is physics?

Good Hump day folks.

It is a beautiful 68 degrees outside. Of course I am stuck in a building with no windows at all.

Fairly accurate, especially when those shocks do eventually fade out.

Morning Glen.

Happy humping everyone.

Hope your day is better than mine was. My computer did a BSOD and corrupted the design I was working

I have found most BSOD in a computer is a driver update or a hard drive failure. Every computer we have here at work has a mirrored hard drive. Unless they both go tits up it is easy to slap another drive in and it keeps on running. Way cheaper than the time lost rebuilding from scratch or the last backup.

My home system even has the mirrored drives. It is not a real RAID with 5 drives for real safety but the odd of both drives failing is a lot lower than just one drive.

Ha ha ha, the company Security and Loss Prevention found a cell phone in the street. They called themselves with it and got the phone number off the caller ID. Then sent and email out to everyone with email notifying them of the found phone. I sent back an email reply that if since they knew the number, did they call and see who the voice mail said it was. In 3 minutes they sent another email letting everyone know they found the owner of the phone.

It starts early today, beware and Good Morning.

Morning all. Thinking a run to Portland in the 911 might be in order soon. Small road trip just for fun.

Joe, before the days of caller ID a friend would have his fax modem try to fax the neighbors when they got too loud. He set it for 99 retries and it retried every two minutes. They got the hint.

Rick V, the weather is like that most days in San Diego. That's why it is $1m for a 900 square foot house with no A/C and no yard in the OK part of town. Nice place to visit though.

Being stupid doesn't qualify under ADA, I've checked.

Hey Jeff in a few months my office will have a new guy from down under working here. Should be fun to run some of your quotes by him.

Then it would be a hate crime or some crap when I make them cry.....instead of protecting them, let's have an open hunting season on anyone that meets certain standards of being dumb as ****, but not legitimately developmentally challenged.

Should be easy, ask them to volunteer as a beta tester for a new program.

Hopefully you'll get a fine representation of Oz masculinity with a sense of humour (somewhat like myself ), and not some bonehead.

Have not met him yet so I can't tell you the end result. I'm sure he will take a fair amount of crap from us here based on those silly little movies about a croc hunter....
